Fantastic!,
This review is from: Young Justice: A League of Their Own (Robin) (Superboy) (Impulse) (Paperback)
This book is, without a doubt, one of the most entertaining comics I've ever read. It starts with Superboy, Robin, and Impulse having a sleepover in the JLA's old headquarters. Impulse, being the annoying flitterbug that he is, manages to awaken the long-dormant Red Tornado with extreme annoyance. Red Tornado, previously withdrawn from his lost humanity, agrees to serve as the supervisor to the new team. While on a routine mission, the boys uncover a celestial piece of technology, dubbed, much to Impulse's annoyance, the "Supercycle" not only does this intelligent device transform an archeologist into a twisted being calling herself "Mighty Endowed" (to which Superboy applaudes) it also happens to belong to a now-free New God. Abound with teen-humor, the boys eventually allow three girls into their team, Secret, Arrowette, and Wonder Girl. The kids sound like real kids, they act like real teenagers, (well, except maybe for Robin) and respond like normal teenages to the dreaded words of "Parent/Teacher Conference." On the whole, this book is a MUST BUY. So WHY did I give it only FOUR stars? Well, the fact is, though it mostly maintained continuity, there is a gaping hole in the time that they obtained Secret. They don't go into it at all, which is pretty bad considering that they just deleted like four issues. Lastly, some of the plot themes are a tad on the banal side. The battle with Tora, the woman who runs with the bulls, not too mention their conflict with Mr. Mxytplk is very funny, but lacking a bit in content. So, if you like superpowered-teens, BUY THIS BOOK!!

A silly trip into the younger side of DC,
By Shaun O'Donnell "Shaun O'Donnell" (Fort Worth, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Young Justice: A League of Their Own (Robin) (Superboy) (Impulse) (Paperback)
While SUperman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the JLA seem to hog a lot of the DC spot light, we sometimes forget about the younger side of the DC world. Granted Robin continuaously teams wiht BAtman and we more often than not see Superboy help out Superman, but what about the other protoges that include Impulse, WOnder Girl, and Arrowette. This novel focus on these teen heroes as well as the return of Red Tornado and the joining of a rescued MEta human from a previouse Novel, Secret. The book starts off with Robin, Superboy, and Impulse just hanging at the former JLA HQ when they meet a retired Red Tornado. From there the story leads to their battles with a young Mxplyx, Desparos ghost, rescuing meta human children, and facing off against their most dangerouse (and short lived) villian Harm. The book features cool action that you would see in any DC story, but also features comical moments as RObin is as serioue as his mentor Batman (to the point he won't even reveal who he really is) Superboy is running on Hormones as he falls for Arrowette and inadvertadly makes Wodner Girl Jealouse, and Impulse is so childish and silly that one can't help but laugh. Overall this is a really silly yet action packed novel that is fun to read and loaded with laughs and suspense. I would recomend this to any DC fan or any one in need of some cheesey fun.

Great,
This review is from: Young Justice: A League of Their Own (Robin) (Superboy) (Impulse) (Paperback)
This book made me laugh(very hard), stare in shock, and almost cry. This comic book was unlike anything I have ever seen before. It immedietly hooks you in with its teenage humor and zest. If you buy this book I can promise it will not be a let down. The characters are very funny, well written/drawn. A definite five stars from me.
