This review is from: A Young Man's Journey Through World War II (Paperback)
This book is very special to me as my former husband's uncle, Capt. Lacey P. Morton, is in the cone of the plane (Stenovitch II "Black Nan")on the cover of the book as the navigator and was killed the day of the crash on April 10, 1945. I purchased this book as the Black Nan is mentioned in the book and I plan on giving it to Asa L. Morton, nephew of Lacey P. Morton for Christmas with the writings I have found regarding this tragedy so he can share it with my grandsons and other members of the Morton family.Lacey P. Morton was a wonderful human being, extremely handsome and newly married when he left for this mission in Italy. I'm sure all the men on this mission were from wonderful families and will always be missed by their loved ones. Joan M. Morton[...] cc: Bob Hoskinson [...] |
