5.0 out of 5 stars A Thrilling Historical Tale, November 28, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Young Rebels (Paperback)
This was a brilliant book that I would recommend to anyone who loves an exciting story or who is interested in this period of Irish history. As a young boy I found it easy to relate to the characters. After reading this book I would like to turn back time and spend a few days at St. Enda's. Padraig Pearse is no ordinary Principal, he is a good teacher, he is kind and very brave. In fact I should tell my principal he should get some advice from him.

I like the way the author didn't waste any time at the start, he just got straight into it. I have read other books before about the 1916 Rising but so far this one is my favourite because I like the way the author wrote some amazing facts at the end of the book. This book is about this kid John Joe, and when tragedy strikes, his world is turned upside down but little does he think that being sent to St. Enda's School will have such an impact on his life.

This book is impossible to put down once you open it. Thrilling and astonishing and it will change your opinion on Irish history.
