Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 2-6-These titles are almost identical to The Young Gymnast (1995) and The Young Soccer Player (1994, both DK); the only perceptible differences are the photos on the endpapers and the ISBNs. Gymnastics covers the history of the sport and routines using the typical colorful photographs for which the publisher is known. Soccer presents basic skills and rules of the game. If the older editions are in good condition, it is not necessary to purchase these "Superguides."-Blair Christolon, Prince William Public Library System, Manassas, VA

5.0 out of 5 stars Soccer, June 26, 2011
This review is from: Superguides: Soccer (Hardcover)
The book starts off with a profile of Gary Lineker, a former English footballer, and a history of soccer. Next, the authors gets the kids ready to play football, provides them with a list of equipment. Yet, before they can play, the book tell them the rules. Afterwards, the authors conduct practice-showing players how to pass, kick, dribble, tackle, shoot, attack and etc.. In the end the readers are taken to several World Cups, the ultimate game. Overall, the book will provide young players and coaches with ideas about how improve their game.
