Fresh blood for vampire fans!,

Tired of the same old format for vampires and vampire stories? Well, look no further because "Lamia of Akkad" makes the whole genre look fresh, putting in new twists while giving a nod and a wink to traditional material. I greatly enjoyed the more casual style, wry humor, and vibrant, if slightly off-beat, characters. The beginning of Lamia's journey is a strong one in this, the first of a 10-book series. My attention is hooked, my appetite has been whetted, and I cannot wait until the next installment. Congradulations, Birde Williams, on your strong debut!

A real page turner,

We follow the adventures of a human turned vampire through his life of immortality. Great characters. Makes you really like the guy and his friends. Not your typical vampire reference model.

The story starts fast and keeps you hooked all the way through. This is the first book I've seen by this author. I'll be looking for her next book. Her name is Birde Williams, not Williams Birde!
