My favorite powder mineral foundation!,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Youngblood Loose Mineral Foundation (Misc.)
And I've tried many over the last few years, including Jane Iredale (pressed and loose powder), Bare Minerals, Sheer Cover, AfterGlow, and PUR. While the other products are decent (PUR was the only exception. I didn't care for it at all), Youngblood's powder foundation is a standout in all categories...it's silky, applies easily, the colors are fantastic and varied, coverage lasts and lasts, and it doesn't get cakey if applied correctly - even with reapplication.Finding a match was a breeze, as they offer low-cost samples - - an excellent way to experiment with different shades without breaking the bank. Packages arrive quickly, too. I have developed a special way with loose powder foundations to make them last twice as long, reduce that masky look you can get when reapplying product, control shine, and most importantly, customize the exact level of coverage and color I put on my face: I mix with about an equal amount of good face powder such as CornSilk (my all-time fave - bar none), then split up the now-doubled product into 2 containers...one for home, and one to take in my purse for touch ups. The 1:1 ratio works great with my particular oily skin, but can be customize for anyone simply by adjusting the ratios. Just keep in mind, all powder foundations perform their best when skin has been properly exfoliated, moisturized, and all moisturizers have sunk in completely so skin isn't wet when you start to apply the powder. One more suggestion: DO NOT use a cheap brush, like that uncomfortable, scratchy thing Sheer Cover sends out. The product won't blend as nicely, either. The absolute best brush I've found: Jane Iredale's The Handy. Indispensable, luxurious, and worth every cent! Youngblood has a fantastic product - - Highly recommended!

The best minerals you can put your trust in,
By Ricci Hollins "Ricci" (Alexandria) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Youngblood Loose Mineral Foundation (Misc.)
I had been a user of Bare Minerals or Escentuals for over 5 years and I love the way mineral makeup help with the acne and everything but BE interfered with the Retin-A medication I was using on my face. And that wasn't pretty. I couldn't sweat with BE because it would burn, couldn't put to much for the same reason and then the color selection for women of color isn't good.You practically have to be a chemist to add this color with that color and blend in that along with the bisque, warmth and mineral veil which equal to "a pain in the you know where". Who has time for all that! And to add insult to injury despite all of those things my face broke out when I stop wearing the BE foundation, so I knew something had to be done. I still wanted the mineral makeup but not the way BE was doing to my face so I thought that all mineral makeup would give me the same reaction. So check out this sample from Youngblood and I was literally was blown away. First the sample of "hazlenut" blended so well that it literally disappered into the skin, finally a mineral foundation that matches my skin tone! What a blessing!!!!!!! And if in case I do sweat , it doesn't burn at all, or burn me if I'm still on the Retin-A therpy. All the colors of the samples I can use as a highlighter, concealer, and eyeshadow. It even covered my mom's dark circles which are very dark to no need for heavy concealment like Dermablend that is so thick and opaque. And lastly, it lasts all day. My only complaint is with Younblood that it isnt readily available everywhere, only here at amazon (when they are in stock) or calling a 1-800 number listed on their website and of course Ebay if you trust going there...............I didnt want to be one of those mineral-hoppers that go to one mineral makeup to another and is why i put up so long with BE or that BE is the largest mineral makeup outthere but slowly but surely other companies are following suit so it will give BE some competition. I hope that this helps.......................

As a careful consumer....,
This review is from: Youngblood Loose Mineral Foundation (Misc.)
...I investigate most everything I purchase online. I had been seeing ads for mineral foundations for awhile, and was always intrigued. I have tried most every product in the world; those of us with sensitive skin tend to do this. Basically everything sans oxygen makes my skin break out, so I have to be extremely careful with what I buy. I had been using a cream to powder foundation for years which was great, but a little heavy. Being a stage performer, I have to wear heavy make-up for my gigs, so I prefer something lighter for my everyday life. I can tell you that this foundation is as light as air with great coverage.After receiving an Amazon gift certificate for Christmas, I thought this was the perfect time to try this foundation. Also, Youngblood was the only mineral foundation retailer at the time selling on Amazon. After reading the good reviews, I went for it. My foundation arrived in the mail a few days after Christmas, and now being the end of July, I still have A LOT left in the container. This information is helpful when you receive your tiny little container in the mail. Having a good brush is the most critical element, as well as having a good moisturizer. There is a little bit of a learning curve so give it a couple of days of practice. Youngblood will send you an information sheet this I found very helpful. I have slightly larger pores around my nose, so my tip for this is to apply the make up then take your finger and lightly rub it in, then take your brush and lightly go back over the area; this virtually makes those pores disappear. I also use my finger when covering blemishes, which I have to say I don't get many of. Those who have a bit more acne may feel different about this. I also use a good under eye concealer for my dark circles. I'm sure Youngblood works well for this; I have just never tried it. For some mineral products, they claim to basically be miracle workers, making you look ten years younger, some also say that they cover up large facial blemishes. I'm not sure if this is a miracle product, and I tend to be suspicious of products that make such promises. There will never be a substitute for a good skin care regiment and moisturizer with SPF. I can tell you for sure that I get a lot of great comments about my skin, my skin glows, and most importantly I feel like I look great. I highly recommend this product. 2115|R2DEG742W43BQ;2115|R1NG1VI7GPPIS2;2115|R1P2EHFM1CQSCS;
