I found this book to be chocked full of useful information about skin, health and diet, and Dr. Lancer's "method" of skin exfoliation is new to me.

I think in a few months I will have the "Lancer Glow" that is mentioned in his book.

I love reading books on dermatology as I have had challenges with my skin; and although I have read many such books, I still learned some things from this one. I like Dr. Lancer's book because he devotes much of his writing telling us how we can take care of ourselves at home. It seems to me that most doctors would rather have you come into their office for expensive treatments. Dr. Lancer does mention his products and his method quite a bit, but he also suggests many inexpensive products for those on a budget. The book is a good supplement to use in addition to asking questions of your own dermatologist. I would have given it a five star rating if he would have mentioned his own very expensive products a little less.

Dr Lancer is a famous dermatologist and in his book he prescribes his own method for healthy and younger skin.

The program starts simple enough, with 3 steps in the morning and 3 in the evening that's easy to follow. He even proposes products to use for cleansing & moisturizing that fall in every price range: expensive, average and affordable. I liked the fact that most of these products are widely available even in Europe, and are indeed affordable to anyone (Roc, Clinique and L'Oreal are included in many lists). I also liked the way he addressed various skin conditions like acne and sensitive skin, and explained what happens beneath the surface in those skin types.

Things got a bit more complicated when extra anti-aging ingredients were introduced in the program; I believe the time needed to apply all these creams and the complexity involved, are a bit of a put off for many working women. As for sensitive skins such as mine, using more than a couple of creams like he suggests (especially AHAs and Glucolic acids) I think is bound to create problems sooner rather than later, as personal experience has shown me.

I found his suggestions for handling stress and generally following a healthier lifestyle very interesting; there were a few very practical and simple suggestions that are easy to follow.

Most parts were very interesting and I liked the fact that he based his suggestions and proposals on scientific data. However, some parts were way too detailed and scientific for most readers.

Does the method work? I don't know yet, but Dr Lancer did convince me to buy a good scrub and start trying it. I'll update with the results in a few days.

Exfoliating every day really does help to keep skin looking good; Dr. Lancer explains why. Also, because of this book I wash my face in the morning in addition to at night--I never did that before because I thought it would dry my skin; and now my skin is more radiant. Dr. Lancer explains that serums and moisturizers can work better when you wash away dead skin cells in the morning. You can't argue with results. I also learned which ingredients to look for and those to avoid. Also, I took his suggestion and started taking off my makeup with olive oil. Good info!

I found this book to be chocked full of useful information about skin, health and diet, and Dr. Lancer's "method" of skin exfoliation is new to me. While some of skin care tips are not new (e.g., use sunscreen), the book does a great job simplifying and organizing conflicting skin care advice, and explaining that good skin care practices are better in the long run than expensive procedures. I've changed up my skincare routine to follow the "basic anti-aging method" from the book. I am using the drug store options recommended in the book, not the more expensive products from Dr Lancer, and its been a long time since my skin has been so clear and glowing.

I am a client of Dr. Lancer. I am semi-envious of this book being offered to the world. Simply because I spent many hours over many months researching and reading any information that was offered by Lancer on skincare only for him to now reveal it all in one concise source and make it available for such a minute price. This man is indeed an expert on skincare. I am from rural Mississippi now living on the East Coast and travel monthly to Beverly Hills to Lancer Dermatology because I know there is no dermatologist better than Harold Lancer. His products are ground-breaking. My skin has been transformed and reinvented by his method which he shares with the world in his new book. If I had priviledge to this book last year (although it was just released this year) then I likely would have discovered all the answers prior to becoming his client. However, because he guided me through his 3-step method & monitored my skin throughout the process, I gained a trusting relationship & bond with him and feel a special sort of comfort each time that I visit his office. So although I have access to his unique counsel, I am extremely grateful that he took time to scribe his advice and knowledge and make it accessible to the world because I know what it feels like to endure skin disorders.

The book does reference his products in addition to others. I would have thought that he was crazy had he not referenced his products. Dr. Lancer is world-renowned! Why would he invest years into making outstanding products that do work & then not suggest them in his book that guides one in achieving younger sexy skin?! His book is not an advertisement of his products. His products speak for themselves and made him millions without any reference from his newly released book.
