Book Description

September 23, 2003
The book you hold in your hands will ask you to take a good look (and maybe a new look) at the way you see the world. It will introduce you to ideas we might not think about every day (but maybe we should). What happens when the majority is wrong? Where do your ideals and convictions come from--are they yours alone or did someone give them to you? What purpose does anger serve? Is there a difference between loneliness and aloneness? Where do love and lust meet? Can you love someone and love yourself too? What is jealousy? How can one truly forgive?

Your Answers Questioned is a collection of intriguing, humorous and surprising inquiries; each page will encourage you to consider the world in a different way, from a different angle, by gently pointing you in new and interesting directions. You never know. You just might find some new answers (and some new questions).

About the Author

Osho is one of the best known and most provocative spiritual teachers of our time. Beginning in the 1970s, he captured the attention of young people in the West who wanted to experience meditation and transformation. More than a decade after his death in 1990, the influence of his teachings continues to expand, reaching seekers of all ages in virtually every country of the world. More About the Author

Osho, known for his revolutionary contribution to the science of inner transformation, continues to inspire millions of people worldwide in their search to define a new approach to individual spirituality that is self-directed and responsive to the everyday challenges of contemporary life. The Sunday Times of London named him one of the '1,000 Makers of the Twentieth Century,' and novelist Tom Robbins called him 'the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ.' For more information about Osho and his work, please visit osho.com.

Osho's teachings defy categorization, covering everything from the individual quest for meaning to the most urgent social and political issues facing individuals and society today.

His unique "Osho Active Meditations" are designed to first release the accumulated stresses of body and mind, so that it is easier to experience the thought-free and relaxed state of meditation. (Meditation -The First and Last Freedom, by Osho)

About his own work Osho has said that he is helping to create the conditions for the birth of a new kind of human being. He has often characterized this new human being as "Zorba the Buddha" -- capable both of enjoying the earthy pleasures of a Zorba the Greek and the silent serenity of a Gautam Buddha.

Running like a thread through all aspects of Osho's work is a vision that encompasses both the timeless wisdom of the East and the highest potential of Western science and technology.

Osho has been described by the Sunday Times in London as one of the "1000 Makers of the 20th Century" and by American author Tom Robbins as "the most dangerous man since Jesus Christ."

5.0 out of 5 stars For the Inner Iconoclast, October 21, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Your Answers Questioned: Explorations for Open Minds (Hardcover)
This wonderful book opens with one of the best one-liners on bigotry I've ever seen:
"The less people know, the more stubbornly they know it."
And it gets even better from there. "Life is fulfilled only through longings, never through ambitions." Every topic appropriate and inappropriate for dinner conversation comes under scrutiny in this little volume of short quotes, from sex to politics to religion.
A digestible introductory primer for those who are new to the spiritual provocateur Osho, it is illustrated beautifully with black & white photos and presents a broad range of his offbeat and somehow haunting perspectives on life, the universe and everything.

5.0 out of 5 stars My darkness made light (of)?, December 26, 2005
This review is from: Your Answers Questioned: Explorations for Open Minds (Hardcover)
In my living room, Osho's works fill a whole shelf. This is one of the best. It's the sort of book you can read and re-read, maybe once a year, and keep getting something new out of it every time.

This book consists of short meditations, each of which stands alone. I like that, because I have a short attention span, and I am an impatient reader. I like to read brief, concise passages and then ponder them, one by one. This book is perfect for that.

Reading Osho's work is like panning for gold. You must search through a lot of grit. Then a gleaming nugget appears! You store it in your mind, and hope that as you continue to gather and store such little bits of spiritual gold, you are building a treasure stash that will serve you in time of need.

I've spent a lot of time reading Osho's work, and it has mellowed me out. This particular book is easy reading (unlike some of Osho's other work, which can be esoteric), and intense (like all of Osho's work). It makes good sense. Maybe, for some people, it will make too much sense. Spinmeisters will not likely find anything of use here.

If you love challenging yourself to discover more, be more, understand more, and live more of life, then `Your Questions Answered' will not let you down.

Osho has an undeniable gift that we are fortunate enough to receive, even after he departed physical life. This book is entirely unique, with an edge that will open your eyes, heart and mind to all aspects of life, and how you fit into the big picture, including how you view yourself. Do you believe you are magnificent and irreplaceable? If not, it's time to read this book.

Perhaps one of the greatest philosophers of our time, Osho continues to challenge us to challenge ourselves, and the possibilities of all that surround us.
This book is a joy to read. Truly mind opening and highly recommended!
