5.0 out of 5 stars Your Baby Can Sleep: The Practical, Proven Method for Solvin
We have tried everything. Our baby is 8.5 months. I felt like the video explained everything, naps, pacifiers, vacations. We tried the method on Sunday and by Tuesday she was sleeping through the night.

1.0 out of 5 stars Yet another Cry it Out advocate
An exact quote from the video says it all: "She will never learn to fall asleep unless you let her cry." I can give you the advice of the video in three sentences: Put your baby in her crib. Let her cry. She'll eventually fall asleep. Not advice I'm willing to take. Very disappointing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing results!, March 2, 2000
By A Customer
Another mother recommended this video to help us get our 5 1/2-month old son to sleep through the night. It worked for their son in three nights, so we figured we would give it a try. What amazing results! I won't lie the first night was difficult and I was dreading the second night, but to our surprise our son slept through that second night. And he has slept through the night every night since. He goes to bed about 8:30pm every night and sleeps until about 6:30 am. On two occasions he has woken up at 5:00am but was able to go back to sleep on his own within 5-10 minutes. We found the video very useful, full of information, and it answered most of our questions. It also explained things in such a way that we felt reassured we were doing the "right" thing even when our son was crying. The only difficulty we are having is getting our son's wake-up time to coordinate with ours. We like to sleep in until about 7:30 and he wakes up at 6:30, but honestly after getting a full nights sleep it's not that hard to get up at 6:30. I highly recommend this video and wish we would have found it earlier.

4.0 out of 5 stars Worth a try, January 11, 2000
By A Customer
I had serious doubts about trying this with our 6 month old daughter. I had been getting up 3 times a night with her and the doctor suggested letting her cry it out. I just couldn't do that so we decided to give this a try. In just a couple of night there was a huge improvement. I am amazed at how quickly we are seeing results. This is DEFINITELY worth trying.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent resource!, June 24, 1998

We had tried using the Ferber book to no avail with our 14 month old girl. On a recommendation, we got the Dr. Tomares video and were very pleased. Things that seemed unclear and even wrong in the Ferber book were cleared up by this video. The bottom line, our daughter was sleeping well in 3 nights and has been doing well ever since. It's hard to argue with results!

I highly recommend that parents see this video -- it was just what the doctor ordered for us! END

5.0 out of 5 stars My Baby is Sleeping Through the Night!, October 27, 2002
By A Customer
My 1st 2 children slept through the night at 8 weeks old and 4 weeks old, respectively. I thought my 3rd child would do the same. He was 10 months old and still not sleeping through the night. He also didn't take good naps. I didn't know what else to do...I was tired and my baby was tired due to lack of sleep. I read books that implied that that's just the way it is and I have to accept it. I happened to see this video in a children's product catalog. I decided to give it a try. My baby cried the first night before falling asleep, but it worked --- He slept through the night. Each night, there was less and less crying. On the 7th night, he cried for maybe a minute or two and then he was quiet. I am happy that my child has been sleeping through the night since we started this program! Another "bonus" that happened is that my baby now takes better naps because he has learned to comfort himself.

5.0 out of 5 stars sleeping mommie, September 26, 2002

I bought this video soon after our son was 3 mos old. I am a nurse practitioner who was returning to work after 3 1/2 mos of maternity leave. My son would wake up 3x/nite. There was no way I could function at work being sleep deprived. I saw this video in one of the baby magazines and figured it was worth a try. I can't believe I was doing everything wrong! Within 5 nites our son was sleeping through the nite. I remember asking my husband on our first nite of complete sleep "did you have to go and comfort Brandon last nite"? My husband said "no". He said "did you"? I responded with "no". At first I was afraid to go to Brandon's room but my husband went and said, "he is fast asleep"! I am a firm believer of this video and have had numerous people borrow it at work with great success. I realize it is hard to let your child cry but this video does it in such a way that you don't feel like a terrible parent. I bought the video for [money] and it is a 19 minute video. It doesn't bore you to sleep and is worth the money you spend. . . I plan on using these techniques again with our upcoming baby. . .

5.0 out of 5 stars We had some doubts, but!!!, September 13, 1999
By A Customer
We had some doubts but had heard from a friend that Dr. Tomares' method worked for them, so... after viewing and following the instructions on the "Your Baby can Sleep" video, our child (seven-months-old) fell asleep by himself after seven minutes on the fourth night. Now Marcus is sleeping like a baby, as are we. We've got our bed back. He puts himself back to sleep when he wakes in the middle of the night. No more 2 a.m. feedings. We're going to tell everyone we know with a child about this video. Outstanding!

5.0 out of 5 stars YES!! She is finally sleeping all night!, July 13, 2004
By
I can't even begin to say how thankful I am to have seen this program. My daughter is 14 months, and she has NEVER slept well at night. My husband bought me this video three months ago but I didn't want to see it -- I didn't want to hear that I wasn't parenting well, or something like that. Anyway, after my own sleep deprivation reached the boiling point (my husband was at his wits end too) I gave it try, and wel....

IT WORKED! It worked so well that in only 2 days she "put herself to sleep" and was able to self-comfort herself back to sleep at 3am and 4:30am. I can't believe it. I have my life back. This last week she has slept well every night, and I can see in her eyes that she is more rested (she is so much less cranky). It only took two nights, and there was no prolonged screaming or crying. The method was so well explained, and so compassionate, that we (I really) had no trouble following it. And my daughter seemed to be ready for this new way of going to bed.

In retrospect, my daughter's sleep problems may have been due to me. I let her develop a lot of negative sleep associations (which is explained in the video), and bad habits. In our case just correcting those negative associations was enough to make the difference -- crying didn't even factor in.

I recommend this video to every new parent! It worked -- what more can I say. Thank you Dr. Tomares!

Sally S, mom of 14-month old

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY...our baby is sleeping!!!, January 15, 2006
By
Our pediatrician recommended this video to us and thank God! At 7 months, our baby girl refused to go to bed and would wake up frequently. We did all sorts of things -- feed her milk, rock with her, read her books, use a pacifier -- for hours until she finally went to bed at 1am or even later. And then she would wake up in the middle of the night multiple times and we would run in and stick a pacifier in her mouth. Needless to say, we were becoming crazy from lack of sleep. Finally, we did this video -- exactly as instructed -- and even though it was slow in the beginning, our baby has finally caught on -- we do her 20 minute bedtime routine and put her in the crib awake and she falls asleep by herself, without any props or tricks, within 5 minutes. And she sleeps the whole night through without waking us up. We highly recommend doing this video -- even though it can be painful in the beginning, it has made both baby AND her parents MUCH happier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy Mom!!, July 14, 2004
By
"joram77" (Atlanta, Georgia USA) - See all my reviews
Yeah! My son, now age 7 months, is sleeping all night long. My son's sleep was a DISASTER, and everything we did was just made it worse. I actually watched this tape a month ago, but when I did the program I didn't really do it completely, and it didn't work. The doctor stresses a lot that if you don't follow it correctly it can't work. My husband finally convinced me to try it again, and to do it exactly right, and ta da, HE IS SLEEPING ALL NIGHT now.

My advice to other parents - follow the program exactly as the doctor describes it (no cheating). It really works!
