4.0 out of 5 stars Overall good book.
This is a very well written and explained book. It is worth buying. It is well documented, scientific and no theological junk of the author is thrown in like so many other dissapointing books. However, it does take an investment in time and can be difficult for those who are not advanced readers. If you are just starting, start with "Your Body Doesn't...

3.0 out of 5 stars Expected More
The book did cover Clinical Kinesiology and related areas, but not at the depth that I had expected based on the other reviews of the book. The authors presented "real" examples, but failed to follow up with corrective solutions for the "lay person". Most of the solutions were "your muscle tested weak, see a professional for help". I...

I didn't expect the level of detail that is contained in the six Beardall books, but some corrective examples (like in the Touch For Health books) would have been appropriate. Enough said, it was interesting reading.

Another great book, not so in depth and smaller but easier to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome! Great for any health professional, May 26, 2000

I found this book to be very insightful and detailed. It is easy enough for laymen as well as the professional. I got a hold of this book after training in Applied Kinesiology (AK). After a long hard look it appears that this book is the only Clinical Kinesiology book in print. All others appear to be out of print. I would enjoy more published work based on the late Alan Beardall, D.C.. Also, I'd like to comment on the great section in the book on sub-clinical Candidiasis.
Truely a great book (especially for the cost).

It contains practical detox recipes and instructions, muscle testing guidelines and easy to read charts. It goes into alternative therapies and yet, thankfully in my case, skips gem therapy.

Awesome book that teaches you the basic roots of kinesiology. If you are not familiar with this type of healing, get this book! It is a great manual to assist you in tapping into your innate energy source to produce a well balanced, energetically sound mind/body/spirit connection. Do you wake up every night at a specific time? That can be a message your body is sending you about an imbalance. For instance, I use to wake up from a sound sleep around 3/3:30 every morning, eventually around 5/5:30 I could fall back asleep. Sharing this info with my kinesiologist she was able to determine this "time of the day" signals detox or an imbalance of the liver, a few simple "adjustments" in my energy flow and presto, now Im sleeping like a baby again. This medicine has now replaced my GP. No more medications or suffering (back/neck/hormones/knees) because my body talks directly to the doctor. No body is the same other than gender specific, each body needs its own menu for success. Kinesiology is the map to get you there!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very detailed and helpful book., February 20, 2007

This book is very detailed and quite informative about this subject. It is pretty deep reading compared with "Your Body Doesn't Lie", but it is also very helpful on the subject. I would not suggest this book for newbies, but rather for those that would rather delve deeper into the subject.

Having had some personal experience with clinical kinesiology I find it quite fascinating. Strange as it all sounds it really works! And it's a positive alternative to traditional medicine.

Its one of my favorites, all of the tricks that it mentions are great. Its hard to stop reading, its full of great information and tips, it opened my eyes as to how far chiropractic treatment together with kinesiology will help people eliminate obstructions, and achieve great health.

2.0 out of 5 stars Define "Clinical" Kinesiology, December 30, 2007
This review is from: Your Body Can Talk: How to Listen to What Your Body Knows and Needs Through Simple Muscle Testing (Paperback)
I haven't finished reading the entire book, but it was not what I expected. I deal with sports and applied kinesiology so I was a bit confused when the book described "clinical" kinesiology using non-clinical methods. Very interesting application and more suitable for those interested in a holistic approach.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting and informative, December 21, 2008

For anyone interested in learning how to 'muscle test' this is a great book to learn. I found that our bodies are like computers and for the most part you can program the testing based on your intent. The hand positions I'm sure have some relevance to the way she explains the testing, but for the most part, I have found that I do not have to do it in a black and white fashion that she explains (with hand positions).
