Didn't Want It To End,

Yes, it's probably a bit odd hearing a jazz pianist/singer trying his hand at pop music, but hey, this guy has talent. I know everyone has different musical tastes, so I respect when someone says they can't finish listening to a full song. But I had the exact opposite reaction after downloading this...the song itself is beautiful IMO. Peter's skills on the piano sure come in handy on this passionately performed ballad, and I'd pay all the money I've earned in my lifetime (well, maybe not ALL of it) to be able to sing like that.
If you like powerful ballads of any genre I think you'll like this, and I sure hope you don't skip giving this free gem a try, as the preview does not do it justice. There's a masterfully produced string arrangement that pads the piano and the rest of the instrumentation perfectly, and while you may hear a touch of Mr. Cincotti's jazzy voice in there, he has excellent delivery on this effort. Not only did I make it through this, I've played it back to back to back...well, I think you get it that I love this song.

Once I'd downloaded this song, I felt deceived by the sample clip available here. Cincotti definitely has potential, but he ruined what could've been a beautiful song by trying to sing high notes that were beyond his range. He sounded rather screechy. The title track was also somewhat misleading, because it led me to expect a slow, tender seduction song, not a sad one. I do think Peter could do really well if he learned to work within his vocal range and select better material to sing.

As mentioned, it's a departure from his songs I'm familiar with, but that doesn't make it bad. It's worth a listen, especially at it's current price.
