Jeri Goldsteins book has replaced an entire shelf of other books for me. The information is accurate, concise and easy to understand. For me it's like taking the best chapters out of all the other music business books I own and putting them all together in one easy to digest presentation. For me it was inspiring. I'm planning on making it required reading for all my students. BUY THIS BOOK...NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars this book helped me get more gigs, August 15, 2003

This review is from: How To Be Your Own Booking Agent And Save Thousands Of Dollars (Paperback)
I really liked how indepth this book is. If you can stand to read it all (it is long), you will have a good understanding on how to approach club owners and others in the music business. I like this book and use it with the Guerrilla Marketing book by Bob Baker and $100,000 in Music by David Hooper to really make my gigs great. Club owners love my group because I come in professional and then go out and bring people in to the show. These three books will help you big time.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Bible For Independent Musicians!, January 30, 2001

This review is from: How To Be Your Own Booking Agent And Save Thousands Of Dollars (Paperback)
I have bought several books about the music industry, but not one has compared to the welth of information contained in this book. Ms. Goldstien tells you how to do everything from setting up your office to booking tours, and how to be effective in your marketing stragities. Before I bought this book all I knew was is that I wanted to play music for a living. I made a few costly mistakes and learned that I was going to have to do something to make my business succeed. After reading, and rereading "The Book" I now have the tools I need to develope a solid marketing plan, book tours that pay, promote my album, and create a buzz on a nation wide level. No other book out their even comes close to this one. Thank you Jeri Goldstien!
