I bought this cord hoping to have a headphone extension cord for my desk at work. Unfortunately, it is very finicky. When I can get stereo sound using it, the quality is not the best but definitely above average. The problem lies in getting the stereo sound. I tried six different headphones/earphones with this cord and not one connected solidly. I was only able to get stereo sound with two of my sets and that was with a book holding the cord down so it was at an angle in the socket but not fully engaged either. I could seat it about 3/4ths of the way then had to jiggle it to get the stereo sound. If I moved to quickly and put any pressure on the link then I lost the stereo sound (or sound completely) and had to fiddle with it to get the sound back. Talk about frustrating. I do not think the problem is from my Beyerdynamic headphones or my Sony Earbuds since they both seat fully in my Sony and Memorex extension cords at home. I have however noticed that some earbuds and headphones cannot be fully seated in their devices anymore (according to their instructions) and perhaps those brands may work fine with this extension cord. (On a side note: I personally believe that there is no reason to manufacturer cords/devices in which a plug should not be fully engaged in its receptacle. I believe it is silly.)

This extension cord's sound quality was great for the cost. If I had been able to fully seat the plug in the receptacle, I would have given this cord a four star review. The shipping was quick and the packaging was simple, no nasty plastic casing to cut through.
