5.0 out of 5 stars The Panther Speaks Through Powerful Pen!, September 22, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Your Chance to Hear The Last Panther Speak (Paperback)
It's obvious that Chase Von, author of this thought-provoking book, is a man of many sensibilities and diverse talent. Whether writing prose or poetry he brings his words to life with vivid clarity, almost as though the reader were experiencing the world through his eyes.

I love short stories so much, I practically devour them, so I bought this book because I had heard that Von's short stories stir the emotions. They were all entertaining and well-written, many resounding with heart-wrenching images of everyday life. And the power of his quotes, lyrics and poetry was an unexpected literary bonus.

A busy man, he also interviews rising stars in various artistic fields--from actors to authors to artists--for the popular Student Operated Press.

Author Chase Von speaks with a positive, inspiring new literary voice. And what a voice! I recommend you experience the pleasure for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chase's Poetry Review, September 30, 2007
This review is from: Your Chance to Hear The Last Panther Speak (Paperback)
Chase Von's poetry is poignant without being preachy. His easy to understand verse can rouse deep emotions, even in those who claim not to enjoy poems. This has been a great year for this hard working, prolific writer and I'm in awe of his power to capture the flame of everyday life through his prose. Though a writer myself, I find poetry to be somewhat of a challenge, so I'm very impressed with the gifted Bard who calls himself Chase Von and look forward to reading more of his work in the future!

Having read so many poems and lyrics over the years, it was such a pleasant surprise to read the works of Chase Von. The Last Panther truly opens your mind by getting you to see the world through perceptions that inspire, as well as at times shock your current perceptions. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys having their perceptions challenged and expanded.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inspiring Intense ane everyday truth, December 4, 2009
This review is from: Your Chance to Hear The Last Panther Speak (Paperback)
Chase Von is beyond the doubt talented. Few of the writings in the Last Panther made me pause and relate it to the experiences in my life. Its not always easy to open your heart and write your thoughts and feelings down, but Mr Von needless to say absolutely Aced his heart out in this book. Just a few of my favorite lines from the book.
-Rich is the man who realizes the material world will no doubt by far outlast him, Poor is the man who frets over what he doesn't have while his life is slipping past him (Live in the moment and be grateful for the life that you have, for the love you are surrounded with and everything else your heart desires will flow to you)
-Black, White, Red, Brown, Yellow or Cinnamon! God never intended us to destroy each other upon this sacred ground
(only if we look at one another without judgment but simply love....)
-If the universe is big enough to hold countless stars and uncountable galaxies, is it really a stretch of the imagination to believe within it, it can also hold your dreams? (our universe is holding our dreams, its just waiting for us to believe and take that first step)
Chase, thank you for sharing the truth with me and the world!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars EMPOWERING!....From author of EXPLOSION IN PARIS...., December 3, 2009

This review is from: Your Chance to Hear The Last Panther Speak (Paperback)
YOUR CHANCE TO HEAR THE LAST PANTHER SPEAK...What a powerful title!...This book is an inspiring collection of thought-provoking, profound, heartfelt writings in poem format that is easy to read. You'll read a few, then ponder...You'll want to take the time to absorb his meaningful words and you might mark your favorite ones that have significance to your own life or that especially connect with your soul. The author is obviously multi-talented...I loved the pencil drawings in the back of the book, yet another common interest I share with him. I love graphite drawings and have printed my own drawings in Limited Editions to sell, an art that may have less significance now in the computer age. This is a wonderful book to give as a gift and was a pleasure to read! I highly recommend!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chase Von Is A Master, June 2, 2009

This review is from: Your Chance to Hear The Last Panther Speak (Paperback)
How great an experience it was to read, "Lsst Panther Speak", as Chase Von has written one book that so captures my heart and attention, with this book that was written from a fantastic collection of who and what life is really all about, there was so sugar coat to it.

Written so well that I could not, and did not want to put the book down when I started reading it, and I have went back and read it again, something I rarely if ever do.

It captures life like I have known it to be, and in many cases it captures the essence of my life.

It is one amazing book of poetry, songs, quotes and short stories.

I am sure my life has ran some what parellel to many of the sections of this book, I feel as though I have lived a good majority of what has been written.

I dare anyone to pick up this book and come away not blown away with a different view on parts of life such as experienced by Chase.

Extremely well written by a master writer, and certainly has earned my utmost respect, and I highly recommend it to everyone from all walks of life.

Read it and come away feeling fantastic and challenged to read another book by Chase Von because I am certainly going to read more.

This book should be on all college and high school recommended reading list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Self-Expression Through Words, June 20, 2007
This review is from: Your Chance to Hear The Last Panther Speak (Paperback)
Your Chance to Hear the Last Panther Speak by Chase VON is a book with an assortment of readings including poetry, song lyrics, quotes and short stories. Mr. VON has a way of expressing a variety of feelings that can touch the lives of all of us. Reading poetry of love, relationships, reality of war, society and just plain life experiences was moving. I found myself challenged by the words in the quote section of his book. I read them over a few times, wondering how they apply to my life and how I think. The book ends with several short stories, written in a format where I could visualize the scene and hear the voices as I interpreted the words.

Mr. VON has a writing style that grabbed me and allowed me to travel through the book, reading the words out loud with a great appreciation for his form of storytelling. At times his words are of a soft and gentle nature, then switching up with a more aggressive tone. I got a sense of Mr. VON's personal life and the diversity in his own background through his writings. From identifying as Black, Native American, with possibly some French, to being born into a military family, serving several years in the Armed Forces and having held a variety of very intense job positions, I learned a lot about who the man was. I was able to feel his desire for love, his sense of family, gratitude for his friends and love of life.

The wonderful thing I find in reading books like Your Chance to Hear the Last Panther Speaks is in the ability to read the book, put it down, to pick it up at a later date and still have a great appreciation for the author's gift of words. I highly recommend this to readers that appreciate poetry and short form storytelling.

If you think
I'd ever try
To judge you
I'm telling you
You couldn't be
More wrong
All I ask of you is a vow
That you can surely give
Just promise me
You'll never say
So long (Chase Von)

Chase Von writes with a profound sensitivity that both moves and impresses me greatly. This book by Chase Von, entitled Your Chance To Hear The Last Panther Speak, contains numerous beautiful, thoughtful and creative poems and so much more. It's a must-have addition to any thinking person's personal library!

Von's book is divided into four parts: poetry, song lyrics, quotes and short stories. They're all equally good and quite engaging--I challenge you to put this book down once you start reading it! Chase Von's thoughts and his keen observations on life are a pleasure to read; he writes with an extra measure of clarity I rarely enjoy when I read a book. I highly commend Mr. Von for this.

No matter what your perspective on life may be, there's literally something for everyone in this book. The poems and short stories touched me the most; and I particularly enjoyed reading the first poem Chase Von ever wrote which is included in this book.

I highly recommend this book. You won't regret it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Truly gripping!, October 12, 2007
This review is from: Your Chance to Hear The Last Panther Speak (Paperback)
What an honor to know someone so honest! This book is truly virtuous. How one can read through it without self-examination is beyond me.

Thank you Chase for being so bold as to not just share your soul, bare your soul but give your heart and soul through the pages of this book to any and to all who have the chance to hear you speak!
