A Tough Question...,
By Kelly K. Dunn "quadzero" (the Heartland of the United States of America) - See all my reviews (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Is Your Church Ready?: Motivating Leaders to Live an Apologetic Life (Paperback)
The title of this books poses a crucial question. Church leaders are compelled to come up with an answer of some kind. How do you defend the faith to a generation that hears with its eyes and thinks with its emotions? Any ideas? By adapting classical apologetics to meet today's challenges. John Guest, Judy Salisbury, Ravi Zacharias, and others use personal examples to help you address objections to Christianity, equip teens to remain faithful to Christ, reach foreign-born residents, and more.

We are called to "be prepared (always!) to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give the reason for the hope that we have," doing this with "gentleness and respect." Unfortunately, many in the church today are not motivated to defend their faith. As this book points out, a number of Christians who go to college end up losing their faith because they had not based their faith on God's Word and were easy fodder for the secular humanist professors at the university. This book has a series of articles with good advice on "motivating leaders to live an apologetic life." The read is simple enough, and while there is nothing absolutely "earth-shattering" in it, solid advice is provided. I recommend this book for pastors and youth pastors especially to help them realize ways they can get their charges motivated to do what God has directly commanded. Thanks for reading my reviews, as this is #200. I look forward to the next #200--if only I had more time in the day!

If you are committed to maturing a group of christian to be fully equipped to do the work of the gospel. Then this is a book you should get ahold of and read until it falls apart. It is simply one of the best books I have read in the last several years for developing a biblical insight on a subject and showing you how to put it into practice.
