The author gave many thorough and enlightening illustrations on how communication breaks down & what to look out for. After reading & self-examination, one could identify the areas for improvement & learn from the methods prescribed. The first part identifies the types of relationships within the family. The second on developing God-honouring relationships, dwelling mainly on the subject of communication. I was very much enlightened by the types of circuit jammers within the family. Part three expounds on sustaining Godly family relationships. It explains why families fight & how to turn discord to concord. I am very much encouraged & edified from the reading of this book.

Read this book together as a family and do the homework at the end of each chapter. I guarantee it will benefit your family in a thousand ways. Do it now, while your family is young.

Wayne Mack's books have always been superb in their practical meaning and its ease of application to daily life

Your Family, Gods Way by Wayne Mack proves to be a tremendous resource for Christian families in that it deals with one of the most important building blocks of interpersonal relationships, and that is communication. Mack offers very practical wisdom on this often-neglected topic by addressing the fundamental, personal hinderances to communication. He begins by discussing the Biblical guidelines for men in their respective roles as husbands and fathers. Mack then follows this fundamental teaching with the same for women, offering the Biblical precepts for being a fulfilled wife and mother. One of the areas of the book which I enjoyed the most was the section on non-verbal communication, and how couples can effectively (and sometimes ineffectively) communicate without the use of words. This passage reminded me of the great importance of watching my own non-verbal communication to make sure that I'm not saying the wrong things to my spouse, family members or others I come in contact with. This book (in chapters six and seven) also sheds light on the common practices of miscommunication, including under-talking and over-talking. These areas are critical for pastors and counselors, and should be reviewed regularly. Being misunderstood can be a tragic thing. For a pastor, or even a counselor, it is imperative that he learn to communicate effectively, thereby bringing honor to God. For this reason, among others, I strongly recommend this book.

This is a biblically sound book. We are encouraging our church members to build their own personal library and this is a book that we recommended to them.
