A New York Times Best Seller For Sure. The Perfect 10......,
By A Customer
This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Hardcover)
Simply put, the author is right on when it comes to addressing the entire problem of being overweight. It is an honest review of what is in the market and the do's and don'ts surrounding each diet plan. Simontacchi touches on areas such as thyroid, brown fat, imbalances and other issues associated with the complete weight loss plan. Utilizing a gourmet chef to create easy and tasty foods, was a great and intelligent idea. The only problem I find is that the 1 months supply of recipes leaves you yearning for more. I hope the recipe book comes into print soon! I would recomend this book to all who seek the answers to true weight management and permanent weight loss. I have started the program and have lost 17-18 lb. within the last 4 1/2 weeks. I am very impressed with the results and have really enjoyed the food. I will keep you posted on further results. Thank you for this opportunity to share. BG

This one is worth it-a good tool in the battle of dieting!,

This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Mass Market Paperback)
While some say this is just a copy of the zone, I think it is more well written than the zone...the information can be presented a number of ways & this one is the first diet book I feel like I can really learn from & use. It is true she hawks her own stores products, but any savvy consumer can make their own choices. Besides, the breakfast bars she mentions can be bought just about anywhere these days. The points she makes about thyroid, & other possible reasons you may not be able to lose weight yet are good ones. The recipes are very easy & very tasty. All around, a very good tool to get you going on a real plan to change the way you eat so you can lose weight for good. At Amazons paperback price, what have you got to lose, really? Go for it!!

Do yourself a favor and read this book!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Hardcover)
Simontacchi reviews one by one all the diets people go on and why they fail, especially the ever so popular low fat, high fiber type. I love the section on squabbling sisters (insulin which stores weight and glucagon which burns it) -- it is must reading to understand why you can't drop that weight. She also explained that one pound of glycogen makes you store THREE POUNDS OF WATER, which is why dieting and exercise will not make it go away! If you don't understand the role glucagon and glycogen play in your weight control, please buy this book -- you will be doing yourself such a favor to understand the process. Have I pushed this book enough? I refer to it constantly, and yes, the weight is coming off!

An author who relates on a simple and understanding level.,

This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Hardcover)
I don't have a weight problem but my husband does. I have started making the recipes in the book and my husband has lost 11lbs in 3 weeks. He has asked me where I got the new recipes he is eating and I just told him that I picked up a cookbook at the store. The ironic way that I found out he has lost weight is that he mentioned that he needed a new belt and I said why. He said that he must have lost some weight. My husband is retired so I make all of his meals. The only meal I cannot give him is the breakfast drink because he is one of those men who cannot think about protein drinks in the morning. This has been the only diet book that I can say, where the meals are just like family cooking. They taste great and they are easy to make. I am surprised about the success of this program and that my husband feels great and does'nt know that he is on a diet. I look forward to the mentioned cookbook sequel. Thank you for this opportunity to share. Please thank the author.

Bless you, Carol!,

I went on this program, lost 18 pounds, and have kept them off ever since. The program is simple, makes sense, is nutritious and safe, and I feel great. The nutritional supplements are readily available, and somehow doing Carol's program makes me feel like I'm finely on a sane eating diet. Even my doctor is amazed at how healthy this is, and how much it's helped me. I've done many of the recipes, and have liked them so far. And I have to say that I've bought copies for a friend and a family member, and they both are losing weight, too. All in all, I'm glad I finally found a book that explains -- in easy to understand language -- a nutritious and simple program that WORKS!

I lost 20 pounds!!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Hardcover)
I read this book and did the program (which I found to be very balanced), and lost exactly 20 pounds in just over 2 months. And, more importantly, I have maintained my new weight easily. I learned things that I did not know because she explains things clearly and easily. And the recipes I've tried so far are great. All in all, I couldn't recommend this book high enough. My mother and several of my friends have gone on this program, and without exception all are losing weight. We all feel better than ever. Count me as a convert!

"A diet by any name...",
By A Customer
This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Hardcover)
Though the beginning (with its unusual honesty about the type of abuse the overweight receive from doctors and others) seemed promising, the rest was the usual, boring claptrap that fills the shelves of every bookstore. The author insists that diets do not work.... then outlines the most rigid of diets and insults her reader's intelligence by insisting that a diet ceases to be what it is once it is termed a "food plan."

A very open and honest book by an unbiased person,
By A Customer
This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Hardcover)
The author seems to only care about the issue of weight control and the permanent handling of this problem. It is a totally different book that is from a nuturing perspective and very honest. It deals with issues that no other book that I have read does, such as; brown fat, allergies, depression and many others. This author has stories of people who she worked with and their stories and challenges. It was well written. The recipes I have tried are very easy and good tasting. The author even gives her address to write. So I did and I am waiting for an answer.

This book is well-written and easy to understand.,

I have followed the philosophy of the diet with certain important adjustments. I am strictly vegetarian and the author claims one cannot follow her diet and be vegetatian. This is not so. I have lost 14 pounds. You can apply the nutritional principals. It would be nice if the author supported that as vegetarianism is healthier and compassionate. Is there anyone out there who has also done this?

This review is from: Your Fat Is Not Your Fault (Mass Market Paperback)
This book makes a lot of sense. I have not yet begun to cook any of the 31 days recipe because I'm away from home. But as soon as I return from vacations I will definitely work on this plan. Most of the recipies look delicious and healthy. I also want my daughters to read this book and learn to eat the healthy way and maintain their figures. There is no easy way to loose weight because people have to learn to discipline themselves and eat more healthy and wise meals for the rest of their lives.
