Book Description

August 18, 2009
As with any coach, you must start somewhere. It may be on the gridiron coaching the pee-wee's on the fundamentals of football or the baseball diamond instructing the seniors on teamwork. Regardless of your sport, experience or age level, Your First Year . . . A Rookie's Journey In Coaching, will be an iatrical piece to jumpstart your coaching career or add to your existing experience. Over the course of his first full year as a coach, Coach Jason Smith kept a journal in which he recorded his successes and his failures throughout the season. The journal entries included many topics ranging from how to design a playbook to how to end a season. The beauty of this book is that is does not focus specifically on one particular sport, it covers a broad spectrum of areas that will cover any team sport. The information found here can be adapted and used by any coach, anywhere, and at anytime.
