Editorial Reviews

You are sitting in the departure lounge. You've been through all the hassle of baggage check in, and passport and security checks. Now you've got a few minutes to catch a breather and a cup of coffee before your flight is called. You'll be in New York or Chicago or Atlanta in a few hours and meeting so and so. Or will you?

We take flight safety entirely for granted. We can scarcely bother to pay attention to the in flight security briefing. Should we be so casual? Every plane that lifts off has to negotiate a dozen hazards to arrive at its destination safely, from the increasingly crowded airspace around every major airport, to storms and high altitude jet streams en route, not to mention technical failure. The fact that accidents are so few is due to the immense professionalism, of the people who have your flight in their hands. NTSC - 52 minutes. www.digicomtv.com

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit oudated December 15, 2012

Though this video was "released" in 2009 it was produced in the early nineties. Much of the material is outdated but there is some entertainment value. It describes the antiquated air traffic system that even to this day has not changed dramatically, and makes some amusing predictions of the future. If you know nothing about aviation you may learn something but if you are an enthusiast don't waste your time.

3.0 out of 5 stars B-O-R-I-N-G July 28, 2013
Format:Amazon Instant Video
I love documentaries in general; I watch them all the time ... on TV, on Amazon, on Netflix (well, you get the idea). That said, the makers of this title could not have made a more boring video if they had tried. Sorry guys. But the pace was too slow, too much concentration on explanations which temselves required explaining. Just my opinion.

Not really interesting. I was expecting more info from cockpit crew and not from traffic controllers. Thank you very much.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good movie for flight buffs July 11, 2013

If you are interested in the flight industry you will get a lot out of this movie. While not as riveting as stories about airplane accidents it was very informative and enjoyable.

Would like to see a more up to date version with the newer technology. Other than that, it gave a good insight as to the task for ATC and makes your really think if the government cuts staffing.
