This new title by Robert Gardner and Madeline Goodstein is packed with good ideas for a science fair project, for ideas adaptable for home school experiments and for classroom projects. As with other of Gardner's outstanding science books, most of the materials for conducting these experiments are readily available and appeal to student's interests. The cover with it's twirling dancer will attract the females and the males will be drarwn to the magnetic cars, car spings and the forces, and the bicycle sections of the book. The book begins with the three laws of motion and then four chapters: Forces, Bouyancy, Levers, and Balances, Pushes, Pulls, and Acceleration, Forces on Toy Cars and Trucks, Forces and the Bicycle. Each experiment starts with a list of materials needed and a simple figure drawing showing the experiment along with questions to ask yourself. The directions for conducting the experiments are clear and easy to understand. Completing the book, there is a list for further reading with books and the names and URLs for reliable websites, like the New York Hall of Science and Science Hound.
Other titles in the series, A+ Ace Your Physics Science Project include Ace Your Math and Measuring Science Project, Ace Your Sports Science Project and Ace Your Weather Science Project. Recommended that this series be available on all school and public library shelves for a fun way for students to learn about science.
