"70s Harmony Soul, full tilt..."!, January 19, 2006
This review is from: Your Funny Moods + Land of Love (Audio CD)
Alas, by the time this review is reviewed, availibility of the last copies of the original 1995 AVI Entertainment 1st ever reissue on cd of Skip Mahoaney & The Casuals music, may be a foregone conclusion! When speaking of sweet soul harmony groups of the 70s from the Washington/Baltimore area, inevitably this group comes to mind. D.C. raised Skip, harbored different group members for the 1973 debut album release "Your Funny Moods" and the 1976 2nd lp "Land Of Love". Albums loaded with classic sweet soul balladry, and sought after for years as collectors items for sweet soul collectors! Skip's super high tenor ranks with the best of the high tenors at that time. AVI acquired the rights to reissue both lps, and a masterful job they did, issuing both in their entirety on 1 cd. It appears the cd has been out of print for years, with supply dwindling as the last remaining copies are sold. A must for any sweet soul/soul music collection. The cd, loaded with ballads and uptempo tracks that include "Your Funny Moods", "Running Away From Love", And It's Love", "Bless My Soul", "We Share Love", "Looking Away From My Past", etc., is excellent! Buy, while supply lasts!

I bought this CD in 1995 and must say from the thousands of CDs I bought over the years, this the best ever. No amount of dollars will convince me to sell this gem. Land of Love, Where Ever You Go...Classic stuff. Was fortunate to get at least one performance on DVD recently.
