Classic in an important concept,
This review is from: Your Golden Shadow: Discovering and Fulfilling Your Undeveloped Self (Paperback)
I read this book years ago, and still use concepts from it in teaching my psychology students. The idea is that we have a tendency to disavow some of our talents, our strengths or uniqueness, and that these potentials fall into "forgotten territory." We become unconscious or unaware of some of our brightest gems. The book gives great examples and explains this concept, how and why it seems to happen, and how we can recognize and "own" our potentials even if they have been exiled for some time. It's an important concept, and an enjoyable book. Particularly important if you plan to work with people in a helping or teaching capacity.
