Book Description

January 2002
This is a WHY TO COOK / nutrition book designed to help you balance your own body chemistry and have fun in the kitchen. Foods that are not appropriate for a healthy chemistry are not found here.

ALSO, for the first time ever—HUGGINS' SECRETS! Well, Huggins and a dozen or so scientists and researchers who have been instrumental in actually causing the chemistries to move. The information that is usually given only during Dr. Huggins' lectures on body chemistry is included in mini-chapters throughout the book.

YOUR GOOSE ISN'T COOKED...YET! contains over 230 recipes that have been tested to make them taste better than the average health cookbook recipes and contain what is necessary for a healthy body chemistry.

Good tasting meals, yes, but the real value is in the explanations of what it takes to really create a healthy chemistry.

What do carbohydrates do to your chemistry?
How much protein is enough, too much or too little? How do you know?
How much salt do you need? What kind?
Same for fats.
How about fish as a source of protein? Based on what?

Valuable information that makes the difference between good health and excellent health is available for the very first time. Now you will know what Dr. Hal A. Huggins recommends after 33 years of balancing body chemistry, and, more importantly—why!

About the Author

Hal A. Huggins DDS, MS, the world's most controversial dentist because of his stand on trying to convince dentistry to stop the use of mercury in fillings, has been in practice 42 years in Colorado Springs. He is a leading pioneer in identifying toxic dental materials and balancing body chemistry. Over the past four decades, he developed a multi-disciplined health care model that has been influential in improving autoimmune diseases such as MS, Lupus, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's. Other symptoms such as chronic fatigue, depression, and memory and digestive problems have also responded.

Dr. Huggins earned a post-doctoral Master's with emphasis on immunology and toxicology from the University of Colorado. Controversial in his stand against deception in dental regulations and practices, Dr. Huggins has been on the cutting edge of dentistry since the beginning of his practice. Once the darling of the American Dental Association and a speaker at many of the major dental conventions, his vigorous stand against silver (mercury) amalgams finally resulted in his losing his dental license in 1996 for "refusing to place or recommend placing silver amalgams and refusing to recommend or place root canals".

During the past 42 years, Dr. Huggins has lectured over 1400 days in 46 states and 13 foreign countries to professional and lay groups and has given over 1000 radio, TV and print media interviews. He has published over 50 articles concerning nutrition, child growth and development, mercury toxicity, root canals and cavitations, and he is the author of several books including:

Who makes your hormones HUM??? -Why do we like some people, and dislike others? Who are we attracted to, and who repels us? They are all nice people, it's just that we have "vibes" with some folks, and others we don't. Why? Dynamics of human interactions are dictated by genetics and are not subject to change. Interpretation is the result of endocrine action (testosterone, estrogen, thyroid, pituitary and more), not logic. Logic has nothing to do with it. It's all in who makes your hormones hum.

Solving the MS Mystery – based on 33 years experience and treatment of 1000 MS patients, this book shows that toxic dental materials in the mouth so close to the brain can trigger many autoimmune diseases including MS, Alzheimer's, Lupus, and Chronic Fatigue. Includes the Protocol that has worked to reverse these and other autoimmune diseases.

Your Goose Isn't Cooked—Yet!– a cookbook/nutrition book with mini-chapters that reveal information usually given only during his body chemistry lectures. This book covers the functions of blood, dental decay and degenerative diseases along with nutrition, meal planning, and cooking tips to balance the body chemistry. Contains over 230 recipes.

It's All In Your Head– designed to create awareness concerning problems and solutions involving diseases potentially generated from toxic substances (mercury, nickel, copper, etc.) in dental material.

Uninformed Consent - the hidden dangers in dental care (with Dr. Thomas Levy) – a book on diseases related to dental materials other than amalgam.

Why Raise Ugly Kids? – a book on child growth and development with emphasis on prevention of orthodontics, and orthopedic and nutritionally related problems. In his spare time, Dr. Huggins has discovered astounding research that has rocked the dental profession in the USA and in other countries. His studies led to the breakthrough that many people suffer immune suppression due to the presence of their dental fillings. This challenged the 160 year old assumption that silver-mercury fillings as well as other toxic metals were safe simply because they had been used previously.

Through his research in the toxicity of mercury and other dental materials, he found out that chronic fatigue and a wide array of auto-immune diseases may be linked to these materials. He developed a system that improves the quality of the immune system and all

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, September 14, 2009
This review is from: Your Goose Isn't Cooked... Yet! (Spiral-bound)
I am really enjoying this book. It has a lot of great sounding recipes (I haven't made any of them yet, but can't wait to start experimenting) plus it contains a lot of great information about why we should and shouldn't eat certain things. I've wanted to get this book for a while now, and I'm glad I finally did!

5.0 out of 5 stars Some Valuable Information!, November 7, 2009
This review is from: Your Goose Isn't Cooked... Yet! (Spiral-bound)
The book contains some excellent information. At the beginning of each set of recipes is a most informative several page essay on many matters of vital importance to someone endeavoring to regain their health. They are short, but packed with needful and understandably written information. In these short chapters Huggins explains the specifics of complete blood counts and hair mineral analysis in determining your nutritional status, which I found most interesting and helpful. A hair mineral analysis I had done by my chiropractor identified my adrenal fatigue problem and the steps that needed to be taken to correct it.

In these chapters, Huggins details which foods are beneficial and which are not. For example, did you know that the oceans are the world's sewers for all the toxic materials dumped into our planet's lakes, rivers, etc.? So, while our bodies need salt to function properly, sea salt is not a good choice. As it is cheaper than brands such as Celtic Sea Salt, and comes from a now dried up salt lake in Utah, I use Real Salt. Regular table salt is highly refined and deleterious to your health. I just read a book detailing just how polluted our oceans are called, "Bottomfeeder." It details the state of fishing practices, fish populations, water pollution, and fish consumption around the globe. While I haven't tried any of the recipes in Huggin's book yet, many look very good, with easily obtainable ingredients.
