Great book!, September 14, 2009
This review is from: Your Goose Isn't Cooked... Yet! (Spiral-bound)
I am really enjoying this book. It has a lot of great sounding recipes (I haven't made any of them yet, but can't wait to start experimenting) plus it contains a lot of great information about why we should and shouldn't eat certain things. I've wanted to get this book for a while now, and I'm glad I finally did!

Some Valuable Information!, November 7, 2009
This review is from: Your Goose Isn't Cooked... Yet! (Spiral-bound)
The book contains some excellent information. At the beginning of each set of recipes is a most informative several page essay on many matters of vital importance to someone endeavoring to regain their health. They are short, but packed with needful and understandably written information. In these short chapters Huggins explains the specifics of complete blood counts and hair mineral analysis in determining your nutritional status, which I found most interesting and helpful. A hair mineral analysis I had done by my chiropractor identified my adrenal fatigue problem and the steps that needed to be taken to correct it.
In these chapters, Huggins details which foods are beneficial and which are not. For example, did you know that the oceans are the world's sewers for all the toxic materials dumped into our planet's lakes, rivers, etc.? So, while our bodies need salt to function properly, sea salt is not a good choice. As it is cheaper than brands such as Celtic Sea Salt, and comes from a now dried up salt lake in Utah, I use Real Salt. Regular table salt is highly refined and deleterious to your health. I just read a book detailing just how polluted our oceans are called, "Bottomfeeder." It details the state of fishing practices, fish populations, water pollution, and fish consumption around the globe. While I haven't tried any of the recipes in Huggin's book yet, many look very good, with easily obtainable ingredients.
