From Library Journal
Bekkar and Wahn are board-certified gynecologists who often hear complaints about male ignorance of the female reproductive system and reluctance to discuss women's health issues. The authors feel this unwillingness results more from a lack of knowledge than caring and that with proper education, men will be more comfortable discussing female health with their partners. Using a short question-and-answer format, this book blends the technical with the humorous for a fun and engaging read. The chapters begin with short courses on female anatomy, the menstrual cycle, contraception, and sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/AIDS, then proceed to menopause, breast lumps, Pap smears, and gynecologic surgery. The result is a very informative and interesting book for both men and women. Recommended for public libraries.
