This is an excellent book for the everyday person who wants practical advice on walking closer with God through life's daily difficulties. There are 30 meditations, and I did one a day during Lent which was a wonderful experience.Francis de Sales gives very down-to-earth advice for us ordinary people.

Focused guide to closer union with the Lord. Provides a thought to carry you through the day, a phrase to remind you of the focus and a thanksgiving at night. Simple and effective.

Saint Francis de Sales, has written wonderfully and guided many lay men and women along their path to holiness. It is highly precious, what he has left for us to follow, as we are all in need of guidance in our daily crosses of working and suffering in the world. This is an easy to read guide that can help anyone leading a busy life and help focus the mind and spirit away from the stresses and anxieties of the world. It can help, very practically, find God's peace in our busy lives. Highly recommended to all in search of inner peace and joy.

I found this book in our Church vestibule library at a time of great emotional stress in my life. I had sought help and found little of it from a variety of sources, from family to psychologists. However, this little book, divided into 30 days spiritual readings, spoke deeper to my inner soul and psyche than anyone had been able to do. I am impressed by the wisdom and gentleness of this saint, St. Francis the Sales, and by his profound belief in God's Providence. This is a book for the spiritually weary, the psychologically tired, the emotionally unnerved. I have bought several copies of this wonderful work to give out to other mothers; I think our world would profit enormously in taking time out to meditate daily the profound maxims laid out so lovingly in these pages.

Not overwhelmed by excessive content, concise, direct, yet full.

Something is very different about these texts as "devotionals."

I have never liked devotionals.

I love these.

These help connect the time I set aside for prayer and meditation with actual connection, if that makes sense.

I am grateful someone shared this series with me.

I got the product in the mail within a reasonable amount of time at a reasonable price.

Shipping is outrageous.
