I am a recent Katie devotee and asked at one of her seminars - where there are a gazillion cds and dvds for sale - which of those gave a basic explanation of "The Work" rather than just Katie in action doing The Work. If you've been to one of her events, you know she doesn't come on stage and explain how one does The Work, it's philosophy and methodology, how she arrived at it, etc. she just starts doing The Work with someone chosen from the sudience. Anyway, the person helping me with sales said there really wasn't one particular disc, but they were obviously uniformed. THIS IS IT! If you are looking to start somewhere with Katie and The Work, and I highly you do, this is a GREAT way to start, (plus going to her web site to watch the videos.) If you have an open mind, you'll never be the same. The Work saved my life; unfortunately, I found it too late to save my relationship. I wish I knew then what I know now. My life and my thinking will never be the same.

In a bookstore several years ago, I was reaching for a book by an Indian guru and another book fell off the shelf onto my foot. It was a now out of print bio on Byron Katie called "A Cry in the Desert". I thought Oh yeah, someone told me about her, wow, she's pretty - maybe I'll get this book instead.

Since then I've read all of her books, been with her in person, and have listened to many tapes, and watched a DVD of her facilitating The Work with various people - all with great benefit.

Though the cover photo makes her look ghostly, this 6 CD set is bedrock insight. I especially enjoyed her personal experience references mixed in with relevant work sessions, even one with a little boy that was quite fun. I'll be listening to this set again as I never tire of Katie's wit, wisdom and honesty.

Better still is to be with her in person. Best of all is to earnestly look inside, via The Work (or any way that works), ruthlessly check your stories and beliefs and find the freedom, peace and contentment that has always been just on the other side of struggling.

I have been listening to this CD set for the last couple fo months and ended up going to BK workshop with my husband. If enlightenment could be affordable, this is the case! She is amazing, her approach is simple and profound. The only thing to keep in mind, listening is not enough. You have to get your pen and paper and do the work. I met "Katie's" "the Work" a few weeks ago, and agree with other reviews that it cannot be recommend it highly enough. There is no slant to her work, just four questions to enable me to find out the error in my thinking that causes me stress, confusion and anxiety. The questions I answer to my self change how I think, therefore how I am, therefore how I am in every aspect of my life. This is very, very freeing. There are no rules, or difficult methods to remember, or religious biases, just examining my own thinking, and finding out if it is in fact the truth. The thinking changes the feelings and the actions come as a result.
Brilliant, easy to listen to, practical, funny, and somehow this "work" helps me to find and believe in myself and gives me permission to find the good in me and everyone i meet. Thank you Katie

These CDS have been priceless, to help bring peace into my life on a continual basis, rather than just for the moment I'm listening.
I have found peace with events and people in my life because of the "reality" "truth" questions.

Katie's simple questions are the only tools needed to end suffering and uncover brilliant freedom, joy, clarity, and peace.
My shelves of spiritual texts are now collecting dust while her materials see daily use. I was simply mistaken when I thought truth had to be more colorful, exotic, fluffy, or complicated.

As I do The Work, I reap the rewards.

After reading her other books, I thought I might find this set to be a plain repetition. Wrong. It is amazingly crystaline fresh and packed with so many insights which help The Work to penetrate deeper.
I've been replaying these discs over and over and each time it strikes me as brand new and different.

For anyone new to Katie's work, this is a great intro, and for those who just want a "refresher" this works also. I just love the message and the technique is simple, yet powerfully effective-this dvd works so well because it is not overwhelming and VERY inspiring to the Soul...great medicine!!!

This book is beautifully written and a must read whether you have the read the first two or not. Very different from the others. If you like this one be sure to get the other two and dig in. "Inquiry" is a God sent. Don't miss out on the most powerful thing you can do for yourself.
No non-dual book I have read prior to this one willingly walks you through writers life like this and lets you see how a "clear" person lives with common everyday happenings and extraordingary events and how they really are the same. Katie shows us what it looks like to live in this present moment, fresh and new, loving all of it just the way it shows up. I have gained so much awareness about the ways I protect myself and how to see all "that need" to protect as just a bunch of thoughts getting in the way of living fully, for example.
I will reread this book again and because it is written from presence it seems to be alive as if Katie herself is sitting and having tea with me and sharing this directly to me.
It's amazing and really fun to read. Truth cuts through the false and opens one up to the love we all know is there under the mental noise and this new book shows us the way. Thank you Stephen and Katie for the view into your lives, its is so helpful.

This is a great intro. to the study of The Work. It is simple but it goes deep. If you are in a hurry to find peace I suggest you listen to this cd set and really DO The Work. The Work of Byron Katie has changed my life.
