4.0 out of 5 stars An expose' on what many call "The Law of Attraction." January 4, 2010
Genevieve Behrend gives a glimpse of the power we all have within, but few realize. She shares stories of how people changed their lives by changing their thoughts about things. What she shares later becomes part of what Rhonda Byrne writes about in "The Secret."

It is interesting that most of this material came from Thomas Troward and that Genevieve was his only student - I wonder why? This book is a quick read and contains nuggets of wisdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars What We Visualise Tends to Come into Being August 3, 2009
What we visualise tends to come into being. A strong mental image summonned by the mysterious but unfailibng law of attraction which allows thing to manifest accordingly to which you have imagined. Behrend , by using visualisation and faith, made money materialises from a source she would never have thought of. In only about 6 weeks, it has gone from being an image in her mind to the reality of a bank account. Jesus alluded to the same idea when he said, "Ask , believing you have already received, and you shall received". In short, you are able to bring almost everything into being if you develop a relaxed belief in its coming.

5.0 out of 5 stars The SECRET? March 24, 2007
By ditapea
If you are a follower or a believer in THE SECRET this is one of the books that gave it the power and the foundation of all the principles written in the book. It is strongly based on the details of mental science and that "you become what you think about." Truly a powerful book. If you want to begin living the life you always wanted and obtaining all your heart's desires this a good place to start. A very quick read. I have read it several times.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my all-time favorite books!! October 9, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This is by far one of the best Law of Attraction books that has ever been written. It is a classic in the area of manifestation and creative visualization. I cannot recall how many times I have read this book; it is very good! Long before all the popular teachers were talking about the power of intention and the Law of Attraction, Genevieve Behrend was writing about this creative power and teaching people how to use it. It's a shame that she did not write more books and leave the world with more treasures. I have won the lottery twice using the Law of Attraction, and would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in manifesting money and success through the Law of Attraction. The author is somewhat of a mystery because there is very little written about her and her life, but we do know that she was the personal pupil of Thomas Troward, and a fine writer and teacher of the Law of Attraction. Review written by Eddie Coronado, author of the Kindle and paperback book "Manifest Your Millions: A Lottery Winner Shares his Law of Attraction Secrets"

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the pioneers February 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Genevieve Behrend is a pioneer in the field of "Mental Science", a "New Thought" discipline, that was founded by Thomas Troward.

She mostly teachs visualization in this book, the premise that all that you visualize comes to being. I think she also does it well in this book. She is also mentioned in Rhonda Byrne's best seller, "The Secret".

Because Behrend was broke, she claimed she used the technic of visualization to get the money that she needed to travel from the U.S. to England to study with him. She claims to have visualized every morning and night, that she was counting out twenty, one thousand dollar bills, buying the ticket, taking the ship across the sea, and becoming Troward's student.

I like the older books on the subject, probably because I like the style of writing, and for this reason, I'm also sure that a lot of people aren't going to like this book. These folks find the style too archaic. I see this complaint a lot concerning older styles of writing.

So if you don't mind a little bit of an old way of expression, I am sure you will enjoy this book. Besides, the price is right.

Is this a religion focused book?
It is a New Thought book. New thought is usually handled from the Christian perspective because that is what we are familiar with in the west. Properly speaking New thought is universal and transcends all religion, and ecclesiastical dogma. It is a very High form of Mysticism aimed at bettering... Read More
