I know these guys personally, and they're awesome people. Their music is great and I haven't met anyone who doesn't like it. It's a great sound for anyone out there.

this cd is a very powerfull piece of music, if your looking for something great among a lot of very disappointing music out there, than try this cd. there's a dash of type o negative, with a dash of pantera, and some alice in chains, but overall a sound all there own.

I am very critical of music and bands, music is one of the things that keeps me alive. The first time I listened to this CD I had nothing to pick on or pick apart. Great riffs, lyric, and singing. Worth the buy for sure. I can't believe they are not known nation wide with songs like this.

This CD is excellent. If you can find it, it's definitely worth checking out. The Dead Leaves had a very different sound from most other bands, somewhere between hard rock and metal, but it can't be pinpointed as either really. No two songs on this CD sound the same. And this band could go from thrashing like there's no tomorrow (On "No Reply" and "Heroine") to creating dark atmospheres similar to what Type O Negative did on October Rust (like on the song "Dead Leaves"), which truly sounds great. And all the songs on here are very good, but there are a couple that are amazing:
Opener "Black Sav" starts off with some clean, quiet riffs and ominous singing, then about 2 minutes in they explode into a heavy main riff that will get you moving. "Centerpiece" is beautiful; with 2 quiet verses that flow into heavy bridges- there is no chorus, but the music is gripping. "Drug Her" is acoustic, interesting, and great. But my personal favorite on here would have to be "Dead Leaves", which has a natural feel to it musically, and a dark atmosphere. When the band kicks in and the song gets heavy, it's excellent (it kinda reminds me of older Alice In Chains actually). But this song is a masterpiece. Closer "President" is excellent too, it was the only single off this CD that I'm aware of; it's worth checking out. Overall, I'd recommend this CD to everyone and anyone who likes rock music. Especially those of you who like Alice In Chains, Tool, and Type O Negative. You won't be disappointed. Sadly, the Dead Leaves broke up last summer, and they weren't well known outside of central PA. So this band may just be the best you never got a chance to listen to, and this CD is probably going to be hard to find. It's definitely worth it though. 10/10.

Found an incredible range of emotion in this CD, the vocals are very strong, and the sound is just incredible. The band has a mixed feel somewhere between Tool and Deftones with a dash of Floyd and some Pantera. |
