Book Description

February 15, 2007
Never before has a book been so timely created to handle the life challenges faced by so many people. Dr. Charles Berg has masterfully orchestrated and eloquently written a book that guarantees to make his reader evaluate their current choices and habits. In a world where advertisements are subliminally hawking us to "buy me," Dr. Berg presents an elegant approach to living a saner and simpler life. He calls upon the experiences of caring for 7,000 patients over a 30 year career. "There is a conclusive correlation between neck and back problems, gastrointestinal issues, and an overall weakening of the human immune system tied to chasing what we don't have and to poor coping skills," states Dr. Berg.As a health care provider, the author helps his reader recognize that staying well is a multi-faceted job. Unlike the commercials on TV, it is never a single product, pill or piece of equipment that renders us whole. He reminds us that human beings are self-healing, self-regulating creatures that function independent of what is fashionably in the market place at any given moment. The cultures on our planet that live on average to 100 years of age, (Siberia, Okinawa, and Tibet), have no formalized health care system, no supplement of the month club, nor anti-aging system to be purchased. So I ask you, what's up with that?Dr. Berg asks his audience to stay conscious; to think before we respond to others and to ask our own questions about what we choose to put into our bodies. The most powerful message contained in this book is the principle of "the space between your ears." Thoughts are things, powerful things that have the potential to alter our immune system, as well as our mental and physical well-being.This book has the power to help people transform their lives through self-discovery. With powerful metaphors and questions, you will find answers to many personal challenges. Call it enlightenment or awareness, the philosophies contained in this book are time tested and emb

About the Author

A successful chiropractor for almost 30 years, a student and teacher of integrative nutrition and now a speaker, author and executive lifestyle coach, Chuck Berg has brought his message of wellness and balance to clients as diverse as BMW North America, UBS Financial Services the International Council for Women in Real Estate and listeners of his "Reclaiming Your Health" radio show. Chuck offers a rich understanding of the value of a life transformed from the inside out-one where equal attention is paid to the physical, the relational, the spiritual and the mindful. As a professional life skill coach, Chuck's message to busy professionals is clear: your work performance will be in exact proportion to your energy, vitality and emotional and physical health.Chuck, in his 30 year practice, observed that even highly successful people were living life completely out of balance and weren't in a position to enjoy what they were creating. This recurring pattern led him to create this book which recognizes the high stress levels of the work force and allows them to honestly evaluate their life. Combining the knowledge of exercise physiology, nutrition and personal development skills, Chuck demonstrates how succeeding on an emotional and physical level is equally if not more important than economic gain alone."I love being a coach and an agent of change," adds Chuck. "Whether I am speaking to a large audience of employees at a Fortune 500 corporation, or one patient in my office, I challenge each person to examine their belief systems and values. I like to give people the opportunity to question habits and create a new strategy that comes from their own personal aspirations and new empowering choices.

This review is from: Is Your Lifestyle Killing You?: What are you chasing and why? (Paperback)
Dr. Chuck Berg has well over 30 years experience in helping people feel better, and he strongly believes that he can help you feel better. After reading "Is Your Lifestyle Killing You?", I agree with him. This small book is a big gem. It is packed with wisdom that will enable you to ask the right questions and seek the routes to physiological and psychological well being and genuine happiness.

This is a road map taking you to a saner and simpler life. It is written with humor and compassion, and gives you a gentle kick in the rear when you need it. A great addition to my library!
