This is one of those heart-warming books that mothers will appreciate as much as (if not more so) than their toddlers. A mother and her daughter spend time together, with the mom expressing her love in a cute, novel way ("If I could be an octopus, I'd wrap eight arms around you..." and "If I could be a buzzy bee, I'd make sweet honey for you...") After each comparison with a different animal, the mother says "But I'm not THAT kind of mommy," and then say what she can do.

The full page watercolor and pencil illustrations match the sweet writing well. One tiny little thing that frustrated me is that there is a great deal of cadence in this book through the use of repetitive sentence structure, until the very last line, which just doesn't fit the flow. Oh, well!

My little girl has loved this book since she was one or younger and now almost two she still is so in love with it. It is a nice bonding for us to read together. Recommend to all little girls and their mommies.

I received this book as a gift for my daughter and its awesome.My 15 month daughter loves this book so much, that she never wants to put it down.The illustrations are great .I highly recommend this book .
