Scare you into not spending,

This review is from: Your Money or Your Life: A Practical Guide to Managing and Improving Your Financial Life (Paperback)
Sometimes you have to spend, it may make you more in the long run. This book is excellent if your spending is really out of control. I got it because it was mentioned repeatedly on the Got Rich Slowly blog. Based on J.D. Roth's personal experience, I can see why he recommends this book. I, however, much preferred reading the Boglehead's Guide to Investing (another recommendation from GRS), which presented a better investment approach rather than just scaring me off any spending whatsoever. This book might be right for a different person, but I didn't feel it was all that well written or edited either.
