Stan and Devin thought they had finally succeeded in their mission - Earth has been chosen as the official vacation planet of Pan. The Pants have started coming to Earth for the joyous sensation of sneezing through their nasal processors. But there is a very big problem - they are not allergic to anything on Earth! The only solution is for Stan and Devin to go back in time to ancient Egypt and rescue an allergy-causing goldenrod. Can the heroic duo make the Pants sneeze before it's too late?

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Gr 3-5-In this manic science-fiction laugh-fest, Devin and his friend Stan try to save the tourist trade to Earth from Stan's planet Pan by traveling back to ancient Egypt. The plot particulars of this romp are neither believable nor important. Suffice it to say that there are puns, gags, gross-out jokes, and other silly events. For those unfamiliar with this series, the alien race of Pants is superintelligent due to the nasal-processor computers lodged in its members' noses. These processors are accessed via a finger, thus making the Pants look like yucky nose-pickers to ignorant Earthlings. Stan and Devin are close friends though Devin wants to be cool (he has a long list of Rules of Coolness) and Stan is a total dweeb. This is a slickly marketed and designed series, appealing to those who have an insatiable demand for "Lafs." Readers might be better served by Jon Scieszka's "Time Warp Trio" series (Viking), but Korman's titles will do as popular, lightweight material to get nonreaders reading.-Anne Connor, Los Angeles Public Library

4.0 out of 5 stars They break SPITTOON!, August 26, 2001

This review is from: Your Mummy is a Nose Picker (L.A.F.) (Paperback)
Based on comments of 10 year old boy.) This book is the last in a series of four so far (NP from Outer Space, Planet of the NPs, Invasion of the NPs, and Your Mummy is a NP). The main gag in the whole series is that the aliens look like they are picking their noses, but they are really operating internal nose computers. Earth has just become the main tourist attraction for tourists from the planet Pan. Pants, as they are called, love to go to the dentist, be stuck in traffic jams, and sneeze. But they are not able to sneeze, so they might not visit, and the Earth might be moved past Pluto as a result. To stop this, Stan from Pan and Devin from Earth go back in time to ancient Egypt to bring back Nile Delta Goldenrod, a weed that Pants are allergic to. They goof and change history. Now the world is one big Egypt!

3.0 out of 5 stars Mesmerizing, July 8, 2001

This review is from: Your Mummy is a Nose Picker (L.A.F.) (Paperback)
As an education major I had to read this for a Library Science class. The antics in the book had me laughing. I know young readers will be taken as well with the modern language and hilarity of the Nose picking trio. The author mixed historical information in with the plot. I think this will inspire young readers to read more about ancient Egypt and the mummies. For a quick entertaining read this summer this book has it for young people.
