5.0 out of 5 stars Wilson Phillips' new single is AMAZING!
This is the first single release from Wilson Phillips since 1992, so you can imagine how EXCITED I was that they are FINALLY making a comeback with a new Calfornia-themed style for their re-emergence. This is the first taste we get of the new and improved Wilson Phillips. The girls were hard at work on a new album, full of new material that the girls (Wendy, Carnie, &...

3.0 out of 5 stars Wilson Philips sings Fleetwood Mac.
Basically, it's their attempt at singing the songs made great by Fleetwood Mac. It's a brave attempt and they don't quite pull it off, but their harmony is still amazing. I like it because I like Wilson Philips, but it's not for everyone. The 30 second musical "bites" should tell you if you'll like it. (If you're an average fan of Wilson Philips save your money.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Wilson Phillips' new single is AMAZING!, May 18, 2004
This review is from: Go Your Own Way / Already Gone (Audio CD)
This is the first single release from Wilson Phillips since 1992, so you can imagine how EXCITED I was that they are FINALLY making a comeback with a new Calfornia-themed style for their re-emergence. This is the first taste we get of the new and improved Wilson Phillips. The girls were hard at work on a new album, full of new material that the girls (Wendy, Carnie, & Chynna) were writing together, but put that on hold to after being approached to do this project of songs that swept the beaches of California (and the whole nation) in the 1960s and 1970s.

The first single is Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way," and it is absolutely AMAZING! The vocals are very, very beautiful, and this single proves that Wilson Phillips sound better than ever! They still possess the magic the 3 girls shared in the early 1990s.

The b-side is an acoustic version (I think the album will have the fully-produced version) of the Eagles' "Already Gone," which is another great song!!! They each take a lead on this song, and the harmonies on the chorus sound GREAT!!!!

OVERALL, I definitely recommend this single to anybody!! I can tell that this will be a great comeback for Wilson Phillips. They have the sound, they have the songs, and they still have the amazing vocal chemistry that they've always had! Please buy this single!!

Well this ladies had it goin on again, although many people has stated that they don't understand this version of GO YOUR OWN WAY, I could, This clever ladies, said!, well if were gonna make a acover of Fleetwood Mac, well, to not disrespect the original, let's do a completely different version, and they did, a version were the tracks are slow and with a lot of harmony. For me they have in their hands a really deep version not in a point of comparison with the original, but this is so delightful to hear....it's really heartbreakin', Carnie, Chynna and Wendy are heading to a great album, but with the slow infution RADIO has given to this track, let's hope SONY don't give up on this project and promote a second single cos there's a lot of material in CALIFORNIA, this track it's superb!

4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful re-interpretation of the 1977 classic..., October 21, 2004

I never buy CD singles, but I'm glad I bought this one. Thankfully, Wilson Phillips decided not to emulate Fleetwood Mac's 1977 classic...instead, they came up with their own heartfelt, melancholy rendition of "Go Your Own Way". The slower tempo (albeit with a nearly identical running time) works remarkably well and it reveals the more intimate possibilities of this song.

I'd give this five stars if it weren't for the lackluster rendition of "Already Gone". This renditions sounds too much like the original and offers nothing new.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gone Another Way, June 5, 2004
This review is from: Go Your Own Way / Already Gone (Audio CD)
Sometimes, comebacks really don't seem to be all that they are cracked up to be. When I heard that Wilson Phillips was going to reunite, I really was excited. Unfortunately, when I heard the comeback song, it just really didn't get to me. The remake of Fleetwood Mac's legendary hit, Go Your Own Way, is a very much simple version of the song, that seems more like it is stripped down the way Stevie Nicks and company would perform it. This version of the 70's song really doesn't have what I thought of it, to make it a suggestive single. Although Wendy, Carnie & Chyna do have great taste in songs, it is a mixed bag here. Otherwise, try going back to Fleetwood Mac's version, for longtime fans here.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Songs - Only Two of Them, November 3, 2006

I enjoyed the songs, but I didn't realize there were only two songs on the CD. I didn't pay more than just a few dollars, so the value is very good. I guess I just wasn't very clear on the fact it's more like a single. I'll have to read better next time. Overall, I think I still would have purchased the CD even if I did realize it had just the two songs.

1.0 out of 5 stars In a word...Awful!, July 15, 2004

Hardcore Fleetwood Mac fans better stay away from this one! The only good thing I can say about this remake is that it is definitely not anything like the awesome original hit. It was painful listening to these ladies sing this entire, slow, boring, uninvolved song. Sorry Wilson Phillips, I hope there are better songs on your new release to help you get back on the comeback track!
