4.0 out of 5 stars Sobering AND refreshing thoughts to ponder
The only reason I give this book 4 instead of 5 stars is because I felt some of it was a little slow. 2.0 out of 5 stars Your people my people
It appears the way the author wants the my people to happen is for Jews to convert. That's how your people will become my people (a reverse of the text in Ruth), by them converting their Judaism into a Christian version. He has the typical Messianic longing for unity into "one new man" a stock phrase indicating conversion as the route it will happen. Where is the part...

4.0 out of 5 stars Sobering AND refreshing thoughts to ponder, March 19, 2001
This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
The only reason I give this book 4 instead of 5 stars is because I felt some of it was a little slow. But, on the other hand, there were chapters that gave me so much to think about that my mind raced. The fulfillment of prophecy concerning Israel becoming a nation (1948) and then re-gaining Jerusalem (1967) along with millions of Jews recently beginning to follow Christ are only a few reasons to read this book. This book is not a prophecy study per se, but a look into a few certain areas of prophecy that have everything to do with Israel, the church and the second coming. Being a "gentile", like many who will read this book, I saw many things about how we as American Christians are cluless when it comes to God's chosen people, Israel. We Christians, as a whole, truly have ignored the Jews and even miss-treated them. Not to mention our biased reading of the scripture because of our American churchy mindset. I would highly suggest this book. You will gain new understanding and begin to find yourself praying for things you have never considered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Primer, June 23, 2004

This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
If you are a stranger to or a novice in the subject of God's promises for Israel, I highly recommend this book. It gives historical and Biblical perspective. I recommend it to Jewish people who do not believe that Yeshua is Messiah as well. It gives a good insight into how the New Testament teaches gentile believers to act and feel in regards to the Jewish people. There's not much "new revelation" for those who have read a plethora of other books on the subject, but what it does do is bring together the best stuff from a lot of other books into one and give some clear focused, practical direction to Christians concerning Israel and Jewish people in general.
This book in no way demonizes Arab or Palestinian peoples. It's not anti-Arab at all. In fact the author only briefly refers to it when saying: "Surrounding Arab nations...have found it difficult to acknowledge her identity." That's the understatement of the millennium.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read For Our Time., May 19, 2002

This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
If only every Christian, every member of every Church, irrespective of denomination, would read the contents of this book. Read and then study the contents and the parallel Scriptures with an open and honest heart, then the world would see such a revival.

Replacement theology would be a thing of the past. God's Promises and inheritance to the Jewish people would at last be understood and the Church would realise it's true relationship to Israel and the Jewish people upon which their faith is founded.

Indeed, for all peoples of all religions, the contents of this book should be studied. Anti-Semitism is on the increase and we owe it to ourselves to know the truth about the Jewish people and the Land of Israel as it is actually outlined in the Scriptures. This book opens up these facts to us in an easy to read and clear manner that is so easy to understand.

This book proves from Scripture how God sees the Jewish people and Israel. This book reveals to us all that we need to know. With this knowledge, our outlook will receive explosive implications in relation to our interpretation of current events, which will never be the same again. A must read !

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Read For Every Christian, June 22, 2002
This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
If you have been taught your whole life that every reference in the Bible to Jews is really about Christians - you must read this book. My whole life I've read the Bible and thought I was the "chosen people" and the "Children of Israel". Don Finto has opened my mind in a very exciting way. Whether or not you agree with every single idea here, please give yourself the chance to see God and love the Jewish people as never before. I read this book at the beach and could not lay it down!

5.0 out of 5 stars There are signs in the sky ..., September 23, 2005
This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
In these 14 chapters the author describes his own awakening to the knowledge of the role of Israel and the Jewish people in God's plan.

He explores the profound contribution of the Jews in both the secular and spiritual fields, and explains convincingly why this nation has always been targeted for oppression and genocide.

Finto looks at the early Jewish Church in Jerusalem and how the later church became separated from its roots after the Roman destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple. The rejection of its Jewish roots severed Christianity from its spiritual source to a large extent, leading to countless schisms and divisions up to the present.

If you have ever wondered why there are so many churches and so much disagreement amongst them, this book will make it very clear. And for a heart-rending account of how so-called Christians persecuted the Jews down the ages, please consult Michael L Brown's book Our Hands Are Stained With Blood.

The author then discusses the birth of modern Israel in 1948, pointing out the hand of providence in its restoration and survival. Since then, and especially since 1967, the original Church has also been restored in the form of Messianic Jews. They are Jewish people who believe in Yeshua our Redeemer.

Chapter Eleven considers the words of the apostle Paul and sees in them a fulfilment of prophecy, as true Christians and Jewish followers of our Saviour start embracing one another. Finto warns about a deteriorating world situation in Chapter 13, explaining that the birth pangs of the reunited Body of Christ will not occur without trial and tribulation.

Chapter 14 provides valuable practical advice on how to love and support the Jewish people in these times. We must become aware of the new Anti-Semitism (often disguised as Anti-Zionism), and counteract the prejudice of the mass media against Israel where possible. In this regard, I refer the interested reader to the book The New Antisemitism by Phyllis Chesler. Finto observes that those who are not actively involved become passively wicked.

Furthermore, our devotion to Israel and those still in the Diaspora must never be tied to their acceptance of Yeshua as Messiah. Those attempts have only led to disaster in the past. In any case, Israel has friends amongst adherents of all religions, even atheists and agnostics like the wonderful Oriana Fallaci. Please read her books The Rage And The Pride and The Force of Reason.

At this time, the friends of the Jews must support the State of Israel materially and spiritually, in any way we can. Those of us of all nations and languages who love God's people are like Ruth in the Bible. By committing ourselves to His people, we are embracing again the family into which we have been adopted.

This moving book concludes with 4 appendices. Towards Jerusalem Council II is a call for repentance and co-operation. This is followed by a Bibliography. The list of Messianic Jewish Movements And Congregations provides contact details, and the last is a Statement Of Repentance.

For further information I recommend the books Understanding the Difficult Words of Jesus by David Bivin, Yeshua by Ron Moseley and Restoring the Jewishness of the Gospel by David H Stern. God bless Israel and all those who love her.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Book, easy to follow, January 26, 2007
This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
This is an incredible book for opening your eyes to where we should be in relation to our Jewish brothers and sisters. It is very easy to read, but it does challenge you to go deeper into studying God's word.
After I finished reading this book, it changed the way I read and studied my bible. I no longer read the bible thinking it's all about me, here in America(replacement theology). When the bible talks about Israel, it means Israel. I believe in this book so much that I bought a case of them (60) and have been passing them out. I consider it an investment into God's kingdom. It's time for the American church to realize our part in "praying for the peace of Jerusalem".
Don's follow-up book "Future of Israel" is also a fantasit book. He is an excellent, understandable writer!

Your People Shall Be My People

This small book, is an easy read, and it is very important to the body of believers today. Don Finto has hit the nail on the head in his teaching about the way Gentiles and Jews, must and will co-exist in fellowship, in this age and the age to come. Your People Shall Be My People should be. For anyone who puts their faith in Yeshua ha Machiach, Jesus the Christ, this is a must read! It should be in every believers library.

5.0 out of 5 stars Christians Take Heed!!, January 7, 2008
This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
Mr. Finto's studys are scathing and truthful. A lot of my quetions about the Messianic movement have been answered and any doubt about the authenticity of this amazing "New Song"(Psa.33-3)that the L_rd has begun has been completly set aside. When I use quotes from this book, people stop what they are doing and tune in. I can't say enough good about this work that Mr. Finto has so skillfully written. Bravo

5.0 out of 5 stars An extremely simple to understand book on an extremely difficult subject, January 26, 2007
This review is from: Your People Shall Be My People: How Israel, the Jews and the Christian Church Will Come together in the Last Days (Paperback)
I have known Don Finto for many years and know his love for Israel and the Jewish people. After reading this book I gave a copy to a friend of mine who is the Superintendent of a major denomination. He was so influenced by it that he is giving copies to every pastor in his denomination in the state he is over.

Get it, you can't put it down until you finish reading it.
Blessings,

Jim Brown
