Useful suggestions to improve one's life, November 28, 2011
This review is from: Your Pocket Life Coach (Paperback)
This book asks its readers to take ten minutes each day to transform their life and work. It provides a whole series of tests by which the reader is to determine where they are in the eight areas of 'the wheel of life'. Physical environment, health, Fun/ Recreation, Money,Partner- Relationship, Career, Friends-Family,Personal Growth. I believe there is much sound advice in the way she treats the problems. She makes the book more entertaining by bringing relevant interesting quotations.
To tell the truth, I did not have the patience to really follow her instructions and go through the exercises. But I did look and see a few tips that I hope may be useful for me. Here are some pieces of lead- advice given before some of the chapters.
'Use the past and present to help shape your future'
'Boost your energy and surround yourself with the right people.'
'Picture what you want, explore possibilities then be specific'
'De-clutter simplify and streamline for success'
'Freedom lies in being bold'
'Create ongoing positive relationships with yourself and others'
'The minute you begin to do what you want to do is a different kind of life' Buckminster Fuller
'The most profound relationship you will have is the one with yourself' Shirley Maclaine
'Understand your blocks and take action to move forward'
'Pay regular attention to your goals and celebrate your successes'
This work is not 'the answer to life' it in a sense is presented at but I suspect can be useful to the readers who know how to take from it wisely.
