5.0 out of 5 stars It was great!
This book told me lots about rabbits and made up my mind to breed them. This book is filled with lots of good information, but I think its best quality is the breeding part of it

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really for kids.
The book has a lot of very useful info for a new owner. I expected more pics and simple language since it said for kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book well worth the price!!, October 4, 1997

Recently added to the New York State 4-H list of recommended books for the Rabbit Project Curriculum, Nancy Searle has done an excellent job of organizing information about the care of rabbits. Well-written, but easy enough for a child to understand, as well as adults.

I breed rabbits and I continually come back to this book for reference. It is a great book and well worth it, whether you are going to breed, show, or just own a rabbit as a pet. I recomend it to everyone.

We love this book. Such a well written, informative book. Great for children and adults alike.
Condition was as stated by seller and great for the price.
Even full price this book is completely worth every cent that you pay.
Wonderful for 4H projects or just further learning about rabbits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book for children interested in the world of breeding and showing, October 29, 2010
This review is from: Your Rabbit: A Kid's Guide to Raising and Showing (Paperback)
I have read through this book several times at rabbit shows, and various places where it has been offered for sale. This book is a wonderful read for children interested in breeding and showing rabbits. It talks about breeds that are easy for children to handle, and how to properly breed and show them. It also teaches proper animal husbandry. This is a book that every 4h, ffa, and ARBA youth member should read. Contrary to the negative comments that were left about it, it is not abuse. Nor does it teach it. It is different, and offers an alternative way to keep your rabbit. This book is not geared towards keeping altered rabbits as house pets, because you can't show an altered pet per ARBA rules. This is for those interested in showing their animal, anbd breeding high qulaity, purebred rabbits. I see hundreds of thousands of rabbits, shown by kids, at any given weekend at shows. Many of these animals are kept as beloved pets. None of them are abused. Breeders, esp children, that abuse their bunnies are few and far between.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book for Adults and Kids Alike!, May 15, 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Your Rabbit: A Kid's Guide to Raising and Showing (Paperback)
I raise Mini Rex rabbits, and this was the first book I found at my library about raising rabbits. I will use this book to help me until I have most everything memorized in the rabbit breeding/marketing/caring industry. It is very definitive, yet simple for somewhat younger kids. Also, you can visit my website at kaninrabbitry.webs.com.
Nancy Searle did a WONDERFUL JOB and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book for ENYONE!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy this Book!, July 22, 2009
This review is from: Your Rabbit: A Kid's Guide to Raising and Showing (Paperback)
This book is atrocious and teaches children how to abuse rabbits and create even more overpopulation than we are already dealing with. Our shelters are already overcrowded with these poor animals who are euthanized by the thousands daily. Why are you wanting to breed more when there aren't enough homes for the ones already born??? This is a disgrace to society, and this book is only adding to an already highly difficult problem.

If you want to learn how to REALLY care properly for rabbits, and show them the love that they deserve, try checking out the House Rabbit Society[...]and also check out the book House Rabbit Handbook. Both are very informative with information that benefits the rabbits, not just a way for humans to abuse rabbits for profit.
