The blurb on the back of the book says, "Warning! This is a REALLY HOT book." That has got to be the understatement of the century. 3.0 out of 5 stars Hot, yes...
I agree with many posters who state that this book is hot. For what it is, it is great. I did enjoy the characters and the idea of the story. As it is erotica, I was not put off by the quickness of the sex between the characters. That being said, I must say that I had difficulty with the "anal play" depicted in the book. I am an avid BW/WM romance reader, and again,...

The blurb on the back of the book says, "Warning! This is a REALLY HOT book." That has got to be the understatement of the century. I liked the plot, even though some parts in the last quarter of the book were a bit too coincidental and too neatly tied up. The heroine, Sin, showed grit, strength and determination, as well as vulnerability. Mac was exquisite as the Alpha hero--yum, yum, gimme some!!! The villains, especially, Carlos, was as nasty as they come.

Although the H/H couple is interracial, BWWM, race was a NON-ISSUE here. In fact, I don't believe race was ever mentioned by anybody--a refreshing change for some readers out there who want the focus to be on internal and/or external issues other than race.

All in all, if you like erotic romance with a very decent plot and excellent writing, try this one--I guarantee you will LOVE it. I shall now get my tub full of ice cubes and re-read this baby. It is a keeper for me.

NB: If you DO NOT LIKE EROTIC ROMANCE--DO NOT READ THIS BOOK AND THEN WRITE A BAD REVIEW BECAUSE IT HAD TOO MUCH SEX IN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get You Sexy On, October 8, 2008

This review is from: Get Your Sexy On (Paperback)
If you have read "Just Like Candy" which by the way is my favorite so far, and "Ridin The Rail" then you are going to love this book "Get Your Sexy On". Kim has done it again and the book is good from the beginning to the end. The emotion you will feel in reading this book is tears, laughter, sadness and anger.
Sienna Featherstone is a woman who had a hard life as a child growing up in the system of foster care, but the one thing I love about Sienna was that although her life was hard she turn out to be a strong woman who love her brother unconditional and would do anything to keep him safe. Now at that age of 18 she was working as a waitress and she met a man name Damien who told her that if she ever wanted to make extra money to give him a call which she did but while she took Damien into her confident she told him about how hard her life had been and that she was talking care of her brother who when he was young their mother boyfriend gave him some type of drugs that did not agree with his young body and the result was that once her brother was release from the hospital they realize that the dosage of the drug that was given to Jacob (her brother) that it mess with his mind. So after their mother died she was put into foster care and her brother was put in a home. After she turn 18 she got her brother out of the home and decided to take care of him but in order for him to stay in better home it cost money and more than what she was making as a waitress. That is when she contact Damian has she begin dancing in the Strip club. Once Sin get on that stage she tune everybody out and only dance for herself until one night a man by the name of Garret "Mac" McAllister.

Garret is a man who also love his family and took care of his sister & nephew. Mac has been in the Army and once he got hurt while in the Army when he left he decided to go back to school and took some courses in Law Investigation and he and his partner that was in the Army with him open up their business and as they say the rest is history.

Once Mac sees Sin he is a gonna as well as Sin she looks into his eyes and that was all she wrote. Now you know that of course once they spend a unforgettable night together neither one wants it to end. During the entire time that Sienna had told Damian about her situation with her brother of course he wanted to help but in the end it was to keep Sienna under his thumb so she would never consider leaving, but with the money she made at club during the day she could take course and get her degree as teacher because Sienna knew that she did not want to dance the rest of her life and she figure as long as she can make enough money to take care her and her brother then she can quite, but Damien didn't want her to quit so he always held the fact that he new where her brother was to bring harm to him so he used blackmail to try and keep her in line.

Can't tell you to much about the book but there is some mystery and a WHOLE LOT OF SEX, and I mean intense, passion and some GOOD LOVING going on in this book.

The book is more than a 5 it is 5+++. I'm telling you will not be able to put this book down and not only that the secondary character Runninghorse............yea what a name can you just see is book with a name like that...............I can't wait also Mac other friend Kyle but it is something about Runninghorse................

Thanks

Louise

5.0 out of 5 stars exciting erotic interracial romantic suspense, October 11, 2008
This review is from: Get Your Sexy On (Paperback)
Sienna Featherstone strips under the name of Sinful Feathers. She performs her sexy gyrations, but keeps her mind detached as the erotic dancing job is just a means to pay off her debts. Her simple emotional compartmentalization and overall impassiveness suddenly changes when she notices someone in the audience to her shock; she has never observed any of the salivaters before private investigator Garrett "Mac" McAllister sits watching her show. She wants him and he obliges. The morning after Sienna knows she wants more from him, but instead flees out of fear.

For the next two years Mac keeps thinking of the erotic dancer he covets. When he finally sees her again, Mac knows she is the one for him and will not allow her to vanish this time. He learns of the danger that threatened her two years ago when she fled for his safety, but Mac remains at her side keeping her safe while loving her.

As with the dandy JUST LIKE CANDY, Kimberly Kaye Terry writes a wonderfully exciting erotic interracial romantic suspense. The vibrant sex scenes will have readers seeking their significant other to get sex with them. Yet in spite of the Venusian heat, the threat to Sienna enhances the overall plot as fans will wonder whether she will flee again and if not can Mac keep her safe. This is an enjoyable heated thriller.

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT and Suspenseful!, December 6, 2008
This review is from: Get Your Sexy On (Paperback)
I have been a big fan of Kimberly Kaye Terry novels and this one does not disappoint. It was a great mix of hot love scenes and suspense. I loved how strong Sienna was, and her doing what she had to do to survive and help her brother. Mac comes in and wants to help her, but she has depended on herself and only herself for so long. But Mac being the alpha that he is he would not let her go without a fight.

4.0 out of 5 stars Knight in Shinny Sex!, October 2, 2008
This review is from: Get Your Sexy On (Paperback)
I have throughly enjoyed all of Ms. Terry's past works. This new one is good. Sex scenes are HOT! Sienna is a good girl who has to do bad things in order to survive and take care of her invalid brother. In comes Garret McAllister as the White Knight - he can protect Sin, make love to her, forgive her past and make an honest woman out of her. My surprise in this story is how Sin is not as strong as a street girl should be - every time the bad guys show up - she caves in. I would have enjoyed Sin if she were a bit more stronger in contributing her manipulations in the story. Of course Mac saves the beautiful Sin and with great sex they all live happily ever after. Now what I am hoping is that Ms. Terry writes about Mac's friend Jake Runninghorse - hopefully that story will have some umph to it! Please let the female in Jake's story be black!

3.0 out of 5 stars Hot, yes..., March 10, 2010
This review is from: Get Your Sexy On (Paperback)
I agree with many posters who state that this book is hot. For what it is, it is great. I did enjoy the characters and the idea of the story. As it is erotica, I was not put off by the quickness of the sex between the characters. That being said, I must say that I had difficulty with the "anal play" depicted in the book. I am an avid BW/WM romance reader, and again, I was taken aback by the extensive use of it. Yes...I know it is erotica, but please, even in the non erotic stories authors feel the need to put this act into just about every interracial romance involving an african-american woman I have read of late. In this novel, the scene plays out just as it does in so many others...the female does not want to, however, the male is relentless in his pursuit of the "play" and of course gets his way. Always, the female turns into this wanton woman who then can't get enough of it. OMG! For once, I would love to see a BW/WM romance in which the woman says "no" and the man finds other more creative ways in which to please her instead of just pushing the issue by saying..."Baby, you'll like it." "Oh no I won't!" (LOL) To be fair, there is a pretty hot toe sucking scene in the book. So there is one for creativity. For me, and I am sure for many others, the back-door action is off-putting. I would love to see a dialog among BW/WM romance readers about this topic. Okay, there is my rant, done, of course, with humor and love to all.

2.0 out of 5 stars Great sex...not so great characters, November 10, 2009
By
TLC (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Get Your Sexy On (Paperback)
The cover of this book does not deceive.
The sex in this book is...shall we say...other? You have to love erotica to love this book because there's no real story. No real reason for the the girl...what's her name?...Sin and the guy...Mac. I seriously couldn't remember and I JUST put the book down.
She was too spineless to be a sista! And what she saw in Mac other than him being a domineering f***!(literally) is beyond me. How do you get turned on by being called a whore?
Does the book:
Make you hot and horny? Check!
Make you want to smack Mac and Sin? Check!
Make you want to read another book by Kimberly Terry....uh only if you like books filled with sex and no story.
Great job on the sex though!
