5.0 out of 5 stars Great exercise game for the PC!!!
I just got Your Shape for the PC a couple of days ago. You do need a lot of space for this game. Ubisoft recommends 8-10 feet. I have a laptop, so I can move around if I need to. If you have a computer, it would be harded. Your clothes should stand out from your background otherwise the camera may not recognize you. You do have to do exactly what Jenny Mccarthy does on...

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Frustrating
I too was so excited to get this game. I bought the Wii version and had no trouble running the program or getting it to work on my TV. The fist time I used it, it seemed to work fine, although it didn't create the individualized workout that I wanted it to. I figured it was user error since I was new to the software. But just as another has said, it wasn't me...no...

You do have to do exactly what Jenny Mccarthy does on the game otherwise it will tell you to watch your arms, legs, or just to keep moving. I was waiting for a review but since I couldn't find a review, I bought it to try it. The only place that I could find it at a store was at BestBuy. Amazon, Target, and BestBuy.com has Your Shape for the PC online. I would recommend this product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Frustrating, March 15, 2010

This review is from: Your Shape (DVD-ROM)
I too was so excited to get this game. I bought the Wii version and had no trouble running the program or getting it to work on my TV. The fist time I used it, it seemed to work fine, although it didn't create the individualized workout that I wanted it to. I figured it was user error since I was new to the software. But just as another has said, it wasn't me...no matter which areas I targeted, it always had the same workout. Also, the first time I used it, it said I was doing fine and said I was working out at about 85% intensity. Each workout after that, my workout intensity decreased all the way down to 38% - no matter what I did. It kept telling me, "Watch your arms. Do what I do." and I was doing nothing different from the first time so why such a low rating? I changed clothing colors, lighting, camera angles, etc and no matter what, it couldn't "see" what I was doing. I go so frustrated that I just stopped. Now the camera is pointed at the money jar at my office snack bar so maybe the fund won't get ripped off like I did buying this software. At least I'm getting some use out of it.

2.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE OF SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS!, January 6, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Your Shape (DVD-ROM)
BEWARE OF SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS! This game is not compatible with many basic household computers or business laptops. It requires a higher end video card, the type that is found in computers designed for gamers. I tried to install the game on a high end Sony Viao laptop and on a Lenovo desktop without any luck - both times I got an error informing me that my computers did not meet system requirements. Eventually, I had to purchase a new video card for the Lenovo to get it to work. That was a nightmare because it was a "low profile" computer and most of the video cards that were compatible with the game did not physically fit in the computer. Even when I found a "low profile" video card, it was still too wide. Eventually I found one on the internet. At least the folks who answer the help line for the game were actually helpful and spoke clear English.

Once you get it working the camera is very cool, but does have problems seeing your arms as another reviewer mentioned.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not all it's cracked up to be, January 5, 2010
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Your Shape (DVD-ROM)
Honestly I was so excited to get this game and it was such a let down, maybe the Wii version is different but most of the time, the "trainer" couldn't see my arms. I changed rooms, lighting, clothing and got the same results everytime. Also the game locked up a couple of times and lost all info that I had ever exercised. The trainer would ask which area I wanted to target, no matter which body part I chose, the routine was always the same.
Great idea, needs alot more work!

1.0 out of 5 stars Watch out for system requirements, February 15, 2010

OK - I got caught. I had a friend get this for her WII and liked it. We looked on Amazon and there were no system requirements and my system is Vista Home Premium and about 1 year old.

Imagine my surprise when it would not work because I didn't have the right video card!! And something else called a shader.
Mind you, I was a computer programmer for 25 years. If I don't understand what they tell me I need, how about the novice computer user!!

Mine is on its way back to Amazon and I am really disappointed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Requirements too HIGH, February 13, 2010

I purchased the PC version of "Your Shape" as one of my wife's Christmas gifts. Nowhere on Amazon's website are the system requirements for this game. I figured my wife's computer laptop is 1 year old, running Vista, so I figured there should be no problems. I went ahead and tried to load it and it would not run saying the video card did not reach the requirements. The video cards that it requires are video cards that gamers typically use, wrong target audience UBISOFT. Most people who are going to use this program are going to have an ordinary computer, not a game machine. Very disappointed!

4.0 out of 5 stars Go with the Wii version, January 16, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Your Shape (DVD-ROM)
This is a great fitness game. It's a lot more interesting than following boring workout videos, and Jenny McCarthy is bubbly and adorable. But, the specifications for the PC version are too complicated. I have an up-to-date computer (a Sony VAIO), and the game was not compatible with my graphics card. I recommend just going with the Wii version.

1.0 out of 5 stars awful customer support from Ubisoft, January 24, 2012
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought both Wii and PC version of this game in brand new sealed packages. USB camera from PC version (Hercules USB Camera WD19) does not work with Wii and Wii's camera (Hercules USB Camera WC04) does not work on PC though both cameras look identical. Both are . I posted a picture of sys requirements from the package taken with Ubisoft camera under customers pictures section of this product. Webcam details: 640x480 pix, 12dpi, 24bit. You'd need an application to use webcam, which is not provided in Your Shape.

Pros:
1) Installed fine with Win 7 without any issues. My PC met all hardware requirements. For detail sys requirements from the package, see customer's picture.

2) Camera works as webcam ... if you don't expect clear pictures. Note: Wii's camera also works as webcam.

3) Ubisoft Customer Service is in NC, in US soil as of today.

Cons:
1) Software does not recognize its accompanied camera. The message kept asking to plug the unplugged USB camera though it's still plugged in (and working fine as webcam). I cannot go any further without its camera.

2) Tried with other webcams and Ubisoft camera from Wii but none of them worked with PC version of the game. Ubisoft tech support confirmed that they did not test with other cameras.

3) Contacted Ubisoft customer service (available only with non-toll free #) and I was told without asking questions that I received defective camera and asked seller to replace/refund. Amazon has excellent CS and received a new package the next day. Did not work and called Ubisoft CS again and was told the same thing. How possibly could Amazon kept selling defective camera in its sealed brand new game packages? Well, this time, I insisted that the camera worked as webcam. Then I was asked to update my PC and send the package to them as testing and blah blah... over a week without any resolution. Seriously, the supervisor of that tech support did not know how to uninstall drivers from Windows!! Well, depends on whom you asked, everybody answered the phone was supervisor....
I asked him whether he could google it or asked his left and right co-workers but he said that he needed to install camera in his computer to see how to uninstall it.

For the game itself, it's OK, nothing special. I preferred EA Active games.

Side note:
Let me know which service do you like:

A) US customer service who have no basic tech knowledge nor willing to help you though you are paying to call them in their limited available time.

B) Oversea customer service, mostly Indians/Asian/Latins who have somewhat better tech knowledge or have somewhat willingness to help you with toll-free # in 24/7.

I personally love jobs back to US but realized that "ethic" is not coming back!

3.0 out of 5 stars Bittersweet, June 15, 2011

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Well I too had problems with the system requirements. I was disappointed at first because I was really looking forward to exercising with Jenny but it said I needed a video card so I just gave up. I am happy that I can use the web-cam, So I did come out good at the end because it works pretty good on my computer. I don't know what kind of video card I need but i will look into it because I still want to use the game and looking forward to it. I really thought that by my computer having the windows vista it would've worked but i guess not. People beware of the system requirements O.K. That's the only thing that I found that was not good other than that I think the price and the timely shipment was on the money.

What a hassle. By the time you're set up, you've killed your workout time. And, you better have a big room. You'll need it to get the camera working properly. I prefer the DVDs I've purchased (which are much cheaper too). Also, I belong to a great website that is free and tracks all your progress, food, nutritional value etc. This product is just way too much trouble for the same results you can get elsewhere.
