The video claims to teach you three different dances; slow dance, waltz, and rumba. Each section of the tape has a preview of the dance, then breaks it down into the component steps. They then teach you a short dance using all the steps. However, the instructors then display a longer "lesson dance" using these steps, but they don't actually teach you the "lesson dance;" you're supposed to figure it out yourself. The instructors themselves are clearly competent, and they do break down the steps for you. But neither of the instructors appears to have much personality. There is also way too much non-dance related stuff on the tape. There are several long scenes at a fake 'reception' showing a whole crowd dancing to very bad music. Interspersed throughout the video, there is actual footage from the instructor's own wedding and reception, making the consumer feel like he or she just paid money to watch a wedding video. Overall, the tape is not without merit, but it's not the greatest, either.
