Set Your Wedding to Music,
By A Customer
This review is from: Set Your Wedding to Music (Audio CD)
This CD is a perfect mix of songs that I can use for my wedding. There's a gorgeous Celtic version of the Wedding Song (which I love). My favorite is "Con Te Partiro" which I may use for my entrance as I walk down the aisle. This instrumental version is wonderful. "Sunrise Sunset" is amazing: it sounds so contemporary & yet so emotional. I think it's a great Father-Daughter dance (I will probably dance to that with my Grandfather). Another great alternative is "Because You Loved Me" and that's done beautifully too. I could go on and on. This is not just a typical group of love songs bunched together. There are classical pieces, beautifully played and orchestrated (including one of the best versions of "Here Comes the Bride" I've heard), great new songs for a unity candle ceremony, cutting the cake, first dance etc. (Everyone I know is in love with "At Last", sung by Etta James and that's on the album too). I really love this very special collection of wedding music. Even the booklet that comes with it is special. It gives you great ideas on how to use the music. If I could buy only one great wedding CD, this would be the one.

Soapy-songs,

I bought this album to play in my home for our wedding vow renewal. My husband's family hails from Scotland, so the unique Celtic production of The Wedding Song was our immediate choice for processional. It was the only song we used. I personally loved Etta James' "At Last". The rest of the album was strictly average. A couple of songs were written for the afternoon soap opera "The Guiding Light". These were really cheesy. I'd rather loan it to a friend than encourage them to buy it.

Too cheesy,

I'm not sure why anyone would be interested in this item. If you're looking for original, out-of-the-ordinary songs for a wedding, then it's not appropriate, because most of the recorded songs are the classics. If you're looking for great new renditions of the classics, look elsewhere -- the ones here are cheaply produced. The book contains a list of songs, but then again that information could be found on the web or provided by any DJ. There are a couple of songs on the CD you might not otherwise think of, but they're too cheesy, at least for my taste.
