I purchased this book years ago when Mr. Boone was at my church. I made the mistake and shared it with somebody and never got it back. My son is starting to date - very seriously - so I ordered this book for him. I want him to be married only once -- unless he becomes a widower. I highly recommend this book.

Well worth the read!,

I have really enjoyed this book. My fiance and I have learned a great deal about how to interact together as a couple and the pitfalls the seem to trap so many of our friends. It presents the fabulous concept of "outserving your mate" in that if the two are always trying to out give to other then happiness abounds. I highly recommend this book for new and established couples.

If you are interested in authenticity as a Christian, so that your home life reflects Christ, then you will enjoy this book and get a lot out of it. My husband and I read it together in the morning after we read the Bible together. We want our lives to be Christian, from the inside out, so that the way we treat each other at home is true to what Jesus told us to do. We want to be obedient, but we find that we are in a lifelong battle between the flesh and the Spirit, and we can use the help from Godly Christians to make it real for us and show us the applications from the Word of God. Wellington Boone has written a really great book. It's going to seem a little radical, maybe, because he tells us to not fight back, and to be willing to humble ourselves and get stepped on a bit, but only out of the strength that we have by the power of God in our lives. I love how he says we should be like worms, not like snakes...because when a snake gets stepped on, it strikes back, but a worm is easily crushed. He goes in to a lot of detail about how husbands can love their wives as Christ loves the church. I believe this is where he excels, in teaching men, because he is known as being a speaker at Promise Keepers. But there is application for single people (who wish to be married, especially) and also for women. Because we are all called to be little Christs. We all need to stop with our foolishness and be broken hearted over our sinful attitudes and actions...then we can turn to God and in humility, be transformed and become more Christlike. Our private lives should not be different from how we act at church. That's what this book is all about. I wish it was still in print because I want to recommend it to so many different people. But you can buy a used copy for very little money, and the shipping is only $3.99. I think it is a great book. Even if a person has a slightly different doctrinal background, if you are a Christian, you will find this book thought provoking and challenging. Next, I am going to buy Wellington Boone's book about taking the Low Road to New Heights. What a great title! He sure knows how to name a book!

i really liked this book. It gave tips on how to raise my daughter to look for a good Godly man. Also it gave me insight into the responsibilities of a husband. As a result i am not going to tote burdens that i am not supposed to carry. I have taken a better attitude of service to my husband (when things don't seem fair). Even though my husband refused to read the book,I started a family practice of the 8 fold anointing in the book every day. And immediately I have seen changes in my man going starting to go out of his way to serve me. I would really like to see a part two-with more to say on immaturity. how it is identified and how to kill it.

After 40 years of marriage, I left my husband for many reasons, including disrespect and insensitivity. After 4 months I went back, with firm convictions and expectations. I will buy this book for more help to continue in my marriage, and to share with my husband. It takes great forbearance to live with another and thrive.

276 Pgs. Boys you can really learn things from this book!
This is a book written by a Pastor that explains how and why men that are characterized as "A Momma's Boy" are formed or produced. It has lots of information for guidance if you truly want a little bit of heaven in your home. I would suggest this book to both married and single men and women as heads-up on life in the future of becoming a wife or husband. |
