Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Of these two titles designed to help students complete the college application process, Unger's step-by-step guide is the better choice. It provides thorough instructions with brief discussions on various topics from high school grades, schedules, and activities to pre-admission tests. It includes timely checklists, andof special noteexcellent essay and correspondence examples. Your College Application is written by experienced admissions officers. It describes how the admissions officer will look at the applications received, but gives very few examples and is not a true step-by-step guide. However, it does offer two noteworthy chapters: "Facts and Myths About Getting into College," which answers such questions as "Is it true that the children of alumni have an edge?," and "Special Situations," which discusses problems such as deferred admissions, foreign student applications, and wait-listed students.
