5.0 out of 5 stars Fun to read, sing and learn the alphabet!, November 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A You're Adorable (Board book)
My 14 month-old loves this book to pieces - literally! We have read and sung it so many times that it has fallen apart. Even at her young age, she repeatedly pulls this one off the shelf!

5.0 out of 5 stars A special book for my daughter and her granddaddy, March 20, 2000

My 23-month-old absolutely adores this book. And so does her granddaddy. He remembers the song from when he was a child, and they sing through the book over and over again...she never gets tired of it, and though his voice may get hoarse after the 10th time, he loves it, too. It has been a very good bonding experience for them both.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sing the alphabet to a different tune, December 29, 1999
By
This review is from: A You're Adorable (Paperback)
This is a great book for all young children. The words and illustrations are very cute. I sing this with my kindergarten class every morning and they love it. It's a refreshing and fun way to sing along and learn the alphabet.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book for children and parents, December 31, 1999

This review is from: A You're Adorable (Paperback)
Darling illustrations bring the nostalgic baby boomer tune "A You're Adorable" to life, making this book a family favorite at our house. We find that our daughter (22 mos) loves books that can be sung-- and has since she was less than a year old. The lovely illustrations show kids of different ethnic backgrounds and ages frolicking amongst the different letters of the alphabet. It's been a big hit with anyone we've given it to-- highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Get this book!, July 24, 2001

If your baby has one board book, get him this one. I have "read" (sung) this book hundreds of times to my babies and I sing it and animate it in my own special way, stopping to kiss during the "K you're so kissable" and sharing a big hug at the end of the book. The babies want it over and over!!I have bought several copies of this book for shower gifts and it gives me an excuse to sing the song for moms-to-be!

5.0 out of 5 stars a book that glows, January 23, 2002
This review is from: A You're Adorable (Board book)
It's not easy being a little kid sometimes, but this lovely and positive book is filled with nice things to say -- A you're adorable, B you're so beautiful .... Who wouldn't be cheered up?

The illustrations are gentle but lively images of children playing around large letters. I am not familiar with the Kaye-Wise-Lippman song others have referred to, but the book is enjoyable anyway. Though I would rather have had a phrase for each letter of the alphabet rather than three strings (MNOP, QRST and WXYZ), I suppose that makes it fit the song.

Particularly useful when your toddler or young reader is down in the dumps, this gentle reminder tells them that they are special and loved and important. If you know the tune, all the better!

5.0 out of 5 stars Every child should be sung to from this book, December 3, 2000
This review is from: A You're Adorable (Board book)
I remember my mom singing "A, You're Adorable" to us when we were young. I even remember my dad singing it to us, though he'd never admit to it if you asked him today. Anyway, I was thrilled when I found that someone actually illustrated a book with the words to this sweet song! My daughter loves to hear me sing it to her, and the sound of it seems to calm her down. We often read/sing it right before bed as a lullaby. I would recommend this book to anyone... and if you don't know the tune, just make one up; your child will surely love it anyway. (My mom is tickled to know that I remember her warbling this song to us!)

This book has adorable watercolors, it shows babies of many ethnicities playing together with puppies and kittens and balloons... Then it emphasizes the alphabet, and it's all to a catchy song from the 1940's or 50's... my favorite recording of this song is available on iTunes by Neal and Leandra, so if you haven't heard it before, give it a listen so you can sing to your child with this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful song, beautiful book, January 5, 2004
This review is from: A You're Adorable (Board book)
My 1.5-year-old daughter loves looking at the babies in this book, and she's starting to try to sing along. It's fun for both of us to read together, and we sing the song later in the car.
I recommend the CD "Singin' in the Bathtub" by John Lithgow if you want a recording of "A... You're Adorable." It's a great album. (I also bought the Perry Como recording. Beautiful singing, but not my style.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Beautiful, October 2, 2003

This review is from: A You're Adorable (Paperback)
My father-in-law found this song to sing to his first granddaughter, and now my wife and I sing it to our daughter. When she found this lovely book a few days ago, we were thrilled! I expect we'll get a copy with a library binding someday.

The illustrations are cute--but not too cute!--and the song is great. The book itself is well-made--with any luck, our daughter will sing out of it to her children someday (though I suspect she won't need it to remember the words).

Let me explicate this gem, word by word, starting with...um, sorry, gotta go--Quincy is crying. I'd best go sing it to her.
