Book Description

October 2003
Postfeminist psuedo-sexpert Susannah Breslin’s poignantly provocative short stories of mannequin fetishism, midget love, and pornographers gone wild provide the perfect literary accompaniment to the porn collection of any true intellectual. Bringing together the hilariously obscene and the obscenely hilarious, You’re a Bad Man, Aren’t You? heralds the long-awaited arrival of PornoPomoLit, a.k.a. Pornographic Postmodern Literature. Until now, fondling a book never felt so right.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jaw-dropping Innovation, November 17, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: You're a Bad Man, Aren't You? (Paperback)
When I got to the story entitled "F is for Fornophilia" I had to put the book down for a moment and just wait until I could go on. In this story, the fetish subculture that likes to make furniture out of human beings is illustrated by a woman who claims "I am a lamp" as she is standing, sweating, with a lampshade on her head.

This isn't pro-porn, and it's not anti-porn, and it itself is not porn. What, in point of fact, is it? It's nothing I've ever seen before - honest. It's funny and horrifying, sexual and sterile, smart and blunt... if this could please become a new genre, I'll add a bookshelf to my wall for it.

Definitely the most interesting read this year. I read it for the insane sex, but I loved it for the insane humor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Amazing Stuff, November 23, 2003

This review is from: You're a Bad Man, Aren't You? (Paperback)
The author, whom I saw once on Politically Incorrect, has a great knack for taking unexpected turns when you least expect it. What I thought was going to be a straight-forward book of dirty tales turns out to be a strangely heartfelt but still disturbing journey. I only hope to read more of her work in the near future.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book, August 8, 2004
This review is from: You're a Bad Man, Aren't You? (Paperback)
I got Breslin's name from a blurb on the back of J Eric Miller's "Animal Rights and Pornography" and so got this book. "You're a Bad Man, Aren't You?" is a terrific collection. The stories are edgy but literate, and together they form a wonderful whole. I read more about Ms Breslin online, and she's quite interesting. I hope for an opportunity to read her novel on the porn industry when it's published.
