Just Beautiful,
By Michael Kerner "Michael Kerner" (Brooklyn, New York U.S.A.) - See all my reviews (HALL OF FAME REVIEWER) (VINE VOICE)
This review is from: You're Beautiful (Audio CD)
To be really honest with you, the past year really hasn't brought out much in the way of great music, which definitely was unfortunate. Yet, what I was surprised about recently was a newcomer from Britain named James Blunt. While he may not ats like performers like Britney Spears, he has a very unique voice that really stands out well. His debut single, You're Beautiful, is a simple kind of pop song that really carries out well. Although I've heard the track a couple of times, it is just a simple pop song. Yet, James' voice has a distinction of being a very young Rod Stewart, with a great feeling of pop music. All that I can hope for from James Blunt is that he keeps up the feeling of his voice, and hopefully continues to make some more great pop sounds like these.
Song: B 1/2+

Pretty romantic. I have to admit though, I didn't really like the accoustic track. The F-word really seamed to change the story of the song. Now I wonder if he was singing about being stoned when he saw his dream-girl?

Lost For Words,

It's really amazing what a change of profession could do. James Blunt was an obscure army personel and now he's a pop star famous all over the world! "You Are Beautiful" is a great track and the mesmerising voice of the British artist is an added charm to the song. The song is a perfect example of a smooth and genial flow of rhythm and seems to get more and more ethereal everytime you listen to it. I've listened to all the tracks of the album "Back To Bedlam" and this is undisputably the best of the lot. Not an iota of a doubt why this track was the third best-selling one in the UK last year and still is being played all over the world. The other songs in James Bluntg's maiden collection somehow fall short in one dimension or the other but "You Are Beautiful" is a masterpiece. In this song, his voice possesses a certain depth of intent and he sings with conviction broadly underlined by pathos. James Blunt has become a real idol in the world of pop music and I guess in subsequent years he could find the road a bit too tough as people would be looking at him and asking him to repeat his unconventional sucess with "You Are Beautiful".

British Hottie Rocks Music,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: You're Beautiful (Audio CD)
You're beautiful is one of the most exquisite songs ive heard in a very long time. If you let yourself get lost in the song and the lyrics we all find at one time we've been stuck in this situation. James Blunt is a total cutie and is British to beat it all! This song does fit for his vocals....LOVE IT.

I'm a big fan of owning the origional cd, but 12.99 for one song is ridiculous. I was ordering several CDs for my wife for christmas and didn't catch that this was only a single. Atleast it's a good song.

"Disappointed" missed it all...,
By Emerald (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: You're Beautiful (Audio CD)
To "Disappointed" who said that You're Beautiful is simple and boring and not deep: Simple is EXACTLY what he wanted you to feel - that their brief interlude was very simple and pure. In slow motion, picture a couple walking down a side walk; and walking toward them was a man. The man was staring at the woman as she was looking the other way, talking to the man she was with. Slowly as they brush by each others shoulders, she glances up and sees him staring and their eyes lock and time starts to stand still. As she continues down the sidewalk, she starts talking to her boyfriend again. His head turns to see her for the last time, as she walks away into the night.
The deepness of the song is meant to represent the moment when their eyes locked - simple, powerful and fleeting: As he walked away into the night, he had two thoughts in his head; she was beautiful, and knew he would never see her again. Sigh...

Another Idea...,

I have to clarify - the song deserves 5 stars. James Blunt has a really unique style that you either love or hate and I love it. But, I gave this item 4 stars simply because if you liked "You're Beautiful" it's a better investment to just get the album (Back to Bedlam) for a couple dollars more. The other songs on his album are also excellent - it is one of those CDs you can listen to entirely because every song is that good. Check it out - if you are just branching into more of his music the next one I'd recommend is "Goodybye My Lover."

You're Beautiful is Beautiful,
This review is from: You're Beautiful (Audio CD)
The lyrics to the song are quite simple but James Blunt has a distinctive voice. Though he sings pop James Blunt seems to have classic potential.

I went to James Blunt concert in Columbia MD last night and he was fabulous, stage performance was outstanding and his voice is very unusal its the last concert in America for 2006 and I'll bet he's exhausted. The last song of the evening was Your Beautiful and he belted it out with the audiance singing right along with him of course i did too!!!
