5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Anthemic Tunes!, April 13, 2006
This review is from: You're Causing a Scene (Audio CD)
The Arizonan 5-piece Ticker Tape Parade released this EP awhile back, and it's one of Sunset Alliance's strongest releases. 6 melodic pop songs, featuring the legendary Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World) on Here It Comes are on this EP, and every one is simply solid great pop/emo rock.

The great sing-along vocals on this CD refrain from getting annoyingly catchy, and instead pull off slick, soft rock ballads. Reminiscent of an almost Clarity-like feel, the vocals are like Jimmy Eat World meets Diffuser. The opener, Sore Eyes, is a great crowd pleaser, with it's jumpy, bouncy intro and rockin guitars, and soaring vocals. It sounds akin to the amazing Diffuser and a poppier Errortype 11, and then other songs like Breathe; Repeat and Wish I'd Fall bring about the classic influences of Texas Is The Reason or Rival Schools. As the closer sways and introduces a female vocalist, the band's sincerity shines through; the keyboards in the song add a great dimension and its instrumental outro parallels that of The Juliana Theory's Emotion Is Dead parts 1 and 2.

All in all, Ticker Tape Parade's Your Causing A Scene introduces a solid pop/emo rock band who aren't leaving any time soon. It's made for fans of Jimmy Eat World and the midwest post-pop rock sound, and I'm dying to hear more.
