Book Description

March 8, 2011 3 - 6 years390L (What's this?)
Hooray! You're finally here!

But where were you?

A bunny bounces through a range of emotions in this funny picture book about how difficult it is to wait. At first he's ecstatic that you, the reader, has arrived. But then he can't help letting you know that waiting for you took too long, was way too boring, and even became insulting. The bunny is ready to forgive everything if you will promise to stay. But hold on--he has to take a phone call. Wait!  Come back !Where are you going?

Underneath this book's silly, in-your-face humor are feelings true to every child who has had to wait for someone's attention.

3.0 out of 5 stars The bunny falls flat March 21, 2011
Format:Hardcover
Okay, the bunny is cute and usually I love picture books that directly engage the reader, but this one just went a bit too far. Bunny lost a bit of his charm after the third panel of "as rude as..." and "annoying as...." Enough! I get it already. Just not enough funny moments to sustain it as a read aloud, and the whole idea of a contract between the reader and our little furry friend will be lost on most kids. Bunny turns into a phone crazy teenager at the end and the whole book kind of left me scratching my head wondering what age group this one would be best suited for. I don't believe it will make much connection with preschoolers and will probably be far too simple for older kids. This one falls a bit flat for me and is not a recommend.

3.0 out of 5 stars Where are you finally? March 15, 2011
Format:Hardcover
This book was hyped with an actual "lay down" date, slick pictures, and distribution.
I personally found the book a bit tedious. So, I tried it out with my kindergarten student I work with for a civic club.
His attention did not stick with the material and he was clearly disinterested half way through the text.
The plot is, perhaps, simple. The ending was not unexpected.
This is the type of book you may wish to check out from the library first and try it out with your read-to-child prior to actually popping for the $15.99 retail.

Great for the beginning of school. It is a cute book and the illustrations are great. My 3rd graders loved it.
