I've read almost all of Susan Shapiro Barash's books over the years.

Her latest offering is near and dear to me especially being the daughter of a 90-year old mother. I have also gifted this book to my sister who herself has two daughters knowing that this book would benefit her.

2.0 out of 5 stars must read for Mom's AND daughters
Barash has her finger on the pulse of what it is that mothers struggle
with -- and how to improve matters. Her chapter titles are clever, "What
Color would You like in that Prada Bag? " for the chapter on materialism,
"Do you Need to Be Eating that?" for the chapter on food and weight, "Let me

I've read almost all of Susan Shapiro Barash's books over the years.

Her latest offering is near and dear to me especially being the daughter of a 90-year old mother. I have also gifted this book to my sister who herself has two daughters knowing that this book would benefit her.

This book guides you through important issues that mothers and daughters face as well as offer valuable solutions. I find it most interesting that even young mothers with daughters are already asking themselves age old questions that older moms have been grappling with for years.

Here's a really smart book that can help explain the challenge of being a mother and a daughter.

My daughter is an eating disorders counselor and said it was a quick read. She is 40 now, so I was not reading for help. But, it explained many misconceptions I had and also helped me define areas of our relationship. Very informative with alot of examples. Very helpful.

Barash has her finger on the pulse of what it is that mothers struggle
with -- and how to improve matters. Her chapter titles are clever, "What
Color would You like in that Prada Bag? " for the chapter on materialism,
"Do you Need to Be Eating that?" for the chapter on food and weight, "Let me
Help-- You Can't Handle it All" for the chapter on self esteem and
independence. As a mother and grandmother to girls, I found this study fascinating
and insightful. This book provides guidance for mothers of daughters everywhere,
of every age. Five Stars. Selma Meyerson
