Slightly misleading title,

More of a motivational/inspirational book than a "how-to" on selling, so I was a bit disappointed simply because the title can be misleading, depending upon how you read it. The information here is great, however, if you're looking for a cheerleading "rah-rah" type book. Personally, I was interested in more of the nut's and bolts of selling and business than in personal achievement, so I wasn't as happy with this book as I would have been had it filled the reason I bought it.That being said, I'm still giving it a four star rating, because the information here is solid and I'd recommend it to someone starting out or as a gift to a graduate or that type of thing. If you're already grinding out the day to day stuff, you either know that you need goals and that you should stay in shape and get adequate sleep and smile when you shake hands, etc; or you don't. If you don't, this book probably won't cause you to change habits, in fact, you won't bother reading it in the first place. That's probably the biggest problem with this type of book, those that really need it will never read it. The used copy I bought was personally signed by the authors. I wonder if the salesperson that originally bought it ever read it. Probably not, or it'd still by on her shelf...

This is ostensibly a sales book, but it is one of the best all-around success/ motivation books I've ever read! I can say for certain that reading this book (and I've read it a number of times) has really helped me in so many ways. I just started my own recruiting firm about a month ago (after four years doing the same for someone else), and I keep this book in my office. I make it a point to read a page or two every morning...it really gets me going! The sections entitled "One Life, One Boss" and "Under Construction" are especially good. My only complaint is that the authors didn't do an audiobook or come out with another book yet.

A "must read" book for all corporate executives.,

This is more than a book about sales, it's a book about making the most of your life. The basic truths outlined in the acronym OUTSELL have proved invaluable to me through out this year. I honestly believe most of my recent successes in the corporate arena were the result of my applying the principles of this book. The authors are able to convey with humor and precise formula the secrets of sucessful living. I can't wait until my children are old enough to read this book. They will have a jump on a whole generation if they put this book's wisdom into practice. Again, I believe this is a must read more every corporate executive. I will read it at least once a year.

Wrong title - Right Life Guide,

This book highlights the OUTSELL guide to having a successful life. Great stories that are relevant to each topic. Also the authors ask you to stop reading and start acting on their ideas. Very effective guide for those just entering the workforce to throse who are burnt out from it (though if you have read the book, they would be disappointed that there are actually burnt out employees).
Was looking to read the book for sales and received so much more. Another great thing about this book is how positive the authors are. Most will be inspired by the content.

Many people judge the success of something by if they were able to double their income using it. Well, this book not only showed me ways of being successful in sales, it showed me how to live my life more successfully. The two authors obviously know of what they speak, and have provided a simple process to make OUTSELL part of my everyday life. From "One Life, One Boss" through "Eat Breakfast with Champions" to "Live, Thrive, and Come Alive in the Impact Zone" the OUTSELL steps are steps well worth taking. If your not reading "If You're Not Out Selling..." Then I assure you that you are currently are Being Out Sold! It is not only a sales book, but a LIFE book!

I usually don't write these reviews, but I was so insprired by this book. After reading perhaps hundreds of sales / motivational books, this is among a handful that reaches the essence of successful selling. I've managed and trained sales people for years;this book tells the attitudinal truths -- not just techniques on how to achieve success. moreso, it's really about success in life. If this is the only book you read this year, make it your bible; you'll do just fine.

This book is all about attitude and motivation. Don't look for any 'on the street' strategies or sales methodologies here. The book isn't 'deep' but rather is high energy and motivational, kind of like Tony Robbins applied to selling. It applies many of Jack Welch's ideas of "Winning" directly to sales. If you need to be pumped up and recharged this is a great book to read.
This book also offers wisdom in the area of having a sales career. If you aren't enthusiastic, can't maintain high energy, and don't realize that getting the job done ultimately falls to you then perhaps sales isn't for you. The title says it all: you're either selling or being outsold. Stop blaming price, competition and the world for loosing deals. If it was easy they wouldn't need salespeople in the first place. This book is about the attitudes and work needed to become a sales champion: that we need to hunker down and overcome. As the author says we have one life and one boss: ourselves.

As a Financial Advisor for a major full-serivce firm, I found this book to very helpful and informative. You will get easy to follow steps to increase your productivity without actually adding any extra time to your sales efforts. Helped me get more out my exisiting client base. I've tried other "canned" sales books with minimal success. This one actually gave me the 'game plan' I needed to go out the very next day and start getting more commissions, helping my clients better, and enjoy enhanced reults. All this with very little effort on my part. This is a must read for all you commission-based sales professionals.

If You're Not Out Selling is an outstanding tool. It's message presents a philosophy about life that transcends business and sales. If you follow the principles in this book you will find success in your job and your relationships. I am a writer and the book made me realize that I sell myself everyday. Since reading the book, I have sold a movie script and a television series. The techniques work.
